So so angry...

I'm in tears of absolute anger and hatred here. Probably being totally dramatic but just have to rant.

My STBEXH who I am divorcing for his unreasonable behaviour has just returned from shopping with an Apple Watch proudly on his arm. Meanwhile I'm scrapping every one of my pennies together (no savings, SAHM) by selling things on eBay, etc to pay for the solicitor I instructed. Maybe I'm just jealous that I don't have that kind of money to throw around but I'm bloody seething.

Sorry, pretty pointless post really.

BOOP, that gave me a nice little warm glow too Smile

But if OP husband instructed that solicitor first, won't the op have to do the work finding a new one?

Regardless, the solicitor is sounding worse and worse.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 17:50

OP's solicitor was the one her STBXH was going to use but hasn't instructed yet. And he won't be able to now because the OP got there first.

He also won't be able to instruct the others that the OP went to see before settling on the one she decided to instruct

Ah yes, sorry, missed a page.

Hope this solicitor is good.

I think you should go and see every single family solicitor in a 50 mile radius. He may have to sell his new gadget to pay his travel costs to get to one that he can actually instruct. :o

If you haven't started a new thread yet (and I didn't mean the same thread in both places - one on legal support and one for emotional support but that could continue on here), I would:

  • get yours and the children's passports and put them in a safe place (not in the house)
  • empty the joint account/squirrel away extra as BOOP suggested
  • make a list of all the investments/pensions/bank accounts/senior management/accountants at his business (if it's a big one, it will be listed at Cos House)
  • open your own bank account
  • go onto the CAB website which has really good advice about what you're entitled to
  • stop cooking/laundry/all other wifework services immediately!

I'm slightly worried that he wanted to appoint your solicitor. Do you think he may use the firm for his business?

Dungandbother · 19/10/2015 22:42

I don't think the solicitor would have seen you OP if he has ever used that firm before even in business. It becomes a conflict of interest. It happened to me, ex had taken legal advice on a business thing and then they wouldn't represent me in divorce.

I think he only said it to rattle your cage..... I would guess he is usually in the driving seat and you are a quiet passenger so he was attempting to unsettle you, and he couldn't get any higher than that childish comment.

Ignore!
PS hoping you're wearing the watch next week as half owner!
