I have a date tomorrow

It happened by accident. I'm on a dating website and I don't really use it. Occasionally I get messages but they usually consist of 'hi'. I had one the other day and he had actually made a bit more of an effort and was quite witty.
We've had a brief to and fro messaging and it transpires that he and I run identical businesses. Maybe not such a good thing but at least its an ice breaker. So we are meeting tomorrow.
what is the done thing these days ? I will be driving so no alcohol. I'm terrified. Haven't been on a date in years!

Oh can you start a thread? I love a live date thread! I've never had one before (a thread I've had dates) or just update here! But you HAVE to update.
Disco hasn't updated and I am cross Wink I worry she is up to all sorts of mischief.!

Look here Ouch, I don't suppose he mentioned his father and you mentioned me?

Ouchbloodyouch · 07/03/2015 10:16

His father is in his 80's.
I'm doing that thing now where you wonder if it went as well for him as it did for me.. how long before he gets in touch should I get in touch etc etc.
perhaps I should take the approach that a current wannabe suitor is taking on okcupid. Three messages he sent without me replying (didn't see them) I looked at his profile - definitely not interested
Ive said sorry I am not interested but he is convinced that 66% match is good enough and he is being very persistent. Im going to look for the block button.

OP posts:
Ouchbloodyouch · 07/03/2015 10:21

Can't find a block button. He is telling me he is merely being ' assertive'. Creepy. Every time I look for a block button it looks like I am checking him out!!

Phew found it! I had to go onto the full version! Anyway back to original dater. He just text to see if I want a coffee! Downside is I am nowhere near him but its great that he messaged! Grin

HellKitty · 07/03/2015 10:31

I was nowhere near mine - 60 miles! We met on OKC and had a 98% match or something ridiculously stupid. We actually both thought the other was answering questions with the answer the other would like to hear. Distance is not a problem, maybe for a coffee but y'know!

Ouchbloodyouch · 07/03/2015 10:40

60 miles? ? Nooo!

OP posts:
flatbellyfella · 07/03/2015 11:25

Do 30 miles each, meet in the middle.

Ouchbloodyouch · 07/03/2015 11:37

Sorry hell my post is confusing re distance! I've been asked for a coffee from nice date man who I met last night but I am nowhere near him today. He lives 7 miles away!

OP posts:
HellKitty · 07/03/2015 11:48

7 miles??!! That's nothing Grin

Oceanpurple1 · 07/03/2015 12:01

Just caught up with this. Sounds like the date went well!
(please update after coffee Grin)

NollaigShona · 07/03/2015 12:16

Oh I think this could turn out good. He seems interested and you so would!
Time to review your knicker drawer and get your body beach ready!
Take your time though. Don't rush.
Pity about his dad.

Ouchbloodyouch · 07/03/2015 12:16

The thing with where I live is that there is a huge body of water near by. The sites always use the 10 mile radius. Great if you have a boat!! Its a 60 mile journey to a suggested town.
The conversations always go
Hi ouch blah blah (some have been nice too)
Hi hotrod 69 thanks for message but X X is too far!
Hotrod 'its only an hour drive'
I don't say to them but inside I am screaming. 'I have children, I have a job 30 quid in petrol just how is that going to work' ?

OP posts:
HellKitty · 07/03/2015 15:52

'I'll have a skinny caramel latte and have a look at my lady garden!'
Calm down woman!
But really, woohoo!!

TisILeclerc · 07/03/2015 17:02

Ooo I'm not sure about a thread of my very own. Maybe I'll just keep hijacking yours Grin

So word has arrived that he's left London. That's about three and a half hours minimum. Best get showered soon - I'm currently sat loafing about in my work uniform. I'm not sure that's the understated sexy look I'm going for Wink

Ouchbloodyouch · 07/03/2015 18:00

Ooh. Where are you going? Have you met before? Will there be alcohol consumed. Where is he staying?

OP posts:
handfulofcottonbuds · 07/03/2015 19:16

I agree, it's done for you, it makes you feel good!

Enjoy the coffee tomorrow

Ouchbloodyouch · 07/03/2015 19:36

Thanks handful x

OP posts:
TisILeclerc · 07/03/2015 20:22

He's on his way home ouch so he'll be staying at his house Grin

Going for a drink in about thirty minutes. Not met before. I have already had one glass of wine but I think I ought to stop there.

Am quietly shitting myself. Blush
