When I first got with my DH he wore glasses. For some reason I have always had a problem with men in glasses but I really liked him (obviously) so I didn't let it bother me. A few months later I addressed him about it and we agreed he would try contact lenses which he did and then stopped wearing them as they were making his eyes sore. I was furious and he agreed he would just try to get by without glasses/contacts apart from when he was driving.

Anyway just lately he has been suffering from headaches, he went to the doctor who told him to see his optician and they are now on at him to wear his glasses again and his friend has told him to ignore me and wear them!

I'm so angry with him, he never stands up for me and always takes other peoples opinions over mine as if I don't matter. I'm sick of people interfiering . Now I don't know whether to let him wear the glasses and give him the silent treatment everytime he has them on or stick to my guns.

i think you have to get over your 'men in glasses' phobia. poor bloke! why does it really matter - one day you might have to wear them too

Blu · 07/09/2006 13:20

When he met you, was he wearing his rose-tinted spctacles perhaps?
Or was it the blinkers?

fuzzywuzzy · 07/09/2006 13:20

Are you for real??? If he has been prescribed glasses then he should wear them. He's ruining his eyes if he doesn't, plus he's an idiot for ever listening to you....

ComeOVeneer · 07/09/2006 13:21

Are you for real? You actually think he should suffer headaches just because you don't like men wearing glasses?!?!?! Words fail me.

Sandcastles · 07/09/2006 13:21

If he needs glasses, he needs glasses. h
He will do further damage to his eyes if he doesn't start listening to the professionals. Not everyone can get on with contacts. IMO, if you love him, then you wouldn't want him to damage himself any further.

Medulla · 07/09/2006 13:22

I'm guessing you've never had to wear glasses! Wearing CL all the time is sore and bad for your eyes. Give him a break - if he needs glasses don't give him a hard time about what he looks like I think you are the one being unreasonable!

HappyDaddy · 07/09/2006 13:23

If this is real, which I don't think it is, you need to grow up.

anniediv · 07/09/2006 13:23

Shock Shock Shock Shock

fullmoonfiend · 07/09/2006 13:23

well yes, I can quite understand how angry you must feel at having to be seen with a man in glasses...what would people think? How dare he put his health before your (projected) vanity. Ditch him I say!!

(Please, do this poor guy a favour and ditch him before you make his life any more of a misery.)
(FYI - dh and I both wear glasses. Good job we doj't have a problem with that eh

Medulla · 07/09/2006 13:24

I'm guessing this isn't for real - it can't be! Well done we've all been had (surely)

Thomcat · 07/09/2006 13:24

If you're not for real, couldn't you think up a better fake post than this?

If you are for real, then get real.

Molesworth · 07/09/2006 13:25

LOL that's exactly what I was thinking TC

Saturn74 · 07/09/2006 13:25

Ditto HappyDaddy.

HappyDaddy · 07/09/2006 13:25

Thomcat, keep it real.

joelallie · 07/09/2006 13:25

Hmmmmm..... does this really require a response?

If so. I don't think you should 'let' him wear his glasses. I think you should be making him wear his glasses. Unless you think that a white stick and a guide dog are more acceptable accessories?

tiredemma · 07/09/2006 13:26

Thomcat- I love your last sentence. Im going to use that one on Dp next time he comes up with one of his "good" ideas.

CarlyP · 07/09/2006 13:27

sorry, but 'let' him wear the glasses................psycho alert!

I think you are mad - you obviously have no idea what poor eyesight is like. He should wear his glasses if he needs to.

But if he wants to go down the contact lense route then go back to the optician and see if other types suit him better.

alexsmum · 07/09/2006 13:29

i wonder if this person is best friends with sweet maria from yesterday who laughed at her dh for bein fat?
