3 years. I'm 32 and DH is 35.

chelsbells · 24/03/2014 20:16

Bluntas and Geordie I'm so surprised to have read your posts, genuinely didn't expect to see any age gaps the same as ours - I'm 23 and DH is 31 years my senior!

Can completely understand why some people struggle to understand large age gaps but it works for us, we have so much in common and are happily married and ttc! Lovely to read there's others out there!

Always said and always will say, each to their own!

Hi chels, it's great to find others with large age gaps here! Our families and friends were all obviously a bit Hmm when we first got together but now they all say that they couldn't imagine us apart.

Well said Horsey Smile

Archibald · 25/03/2014 00:10

He's 8 months older than me. Not that it matters in the tiniest bit.

janajos · 11/04/2014 17:29

I'm 2 yrs 1 month older! DH says that's important cos every year he is younger by 3yrs!! (but only for a month!!!!)

jester68 · 11/04/2014 17:35

16 years and 4 months older than me. He will be 46 this month. I will be 30 later in the year.

Have 2 children aged 8 and nearly 4. Have had lots of ups and downs.

Been together 12 years just after my birthday.

I was 18 when we got together and he was 34

2rebecca · 11/04/2014 18:16

A few months. I love that we have the same reference points when discussing childhood TV, music as teenagers, world events at different stages of our life etc, also from a selfish point of view I don't want to be a carer of an older man. If he was 20 years older he'd be 70 now, that's a terrifying thought.

WitchWay · 11/04/2014 18:17

DH is 5 years older.

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 11/04/2014 18:25

18 days lol!

bluntasabullet · 11/04/2014 18:30

geordierose007 and chelsbells I thought I was the only one who had an age gap like that.

I've got to say that my family were brilliant about our age gap. Some friends were a bit Hmm but we got the most stick off of strangers actually.

RedSaucePlease · 11/04/2014 19:18

8 years. I am younger.

MagnaCharge · 11/04/2014 19:26

9 years. I am 31 he is 40. Been together since I was 17 and its never been an issue.

kiwiscantfly · 11/04/2014 19:28

Two months here, he is older. It seems as if bigger gaps are more common.

Nerf · 11/04/2014 19:33

Ten years. If I'm honest I would prefer less. Different backgrounds, slowing down, different points of reference - it only highlights all the differences already between us.

BrokenBananaTantrum · 11/04/2014 19:39

Another with a 12 year gap here
My mum and dad had a 26 yeargap. They were together 36 yearsbefore my dad died aged 82. It never seemed weird. My dad was amazing. Never bothered me that he was older than mostother peoples dads.
