OK so it is

110g plain flour
2 large eggs
200ml milk
75ml water
pinch of salt
dash of melted butter

Chuck it in the blender and leave it in the fridge all day and by evening the result smells exactly and I mean EXACTLY like fresh semen.

Wouldn't the smell of semen be different for different men? I thought it was one of those things that changed according to your diet. Perhaps it's more that your DH's semen in particular smells like pancake batter than pancake batter smelling like generic semen.

This thread has made me realise that I don't know what semen smells like, I've been within smelling distance plenty of times (although not recently) I just never noticed that it had a smell. Perhaps STBXH's didn't smell.

For one, for example, I'm not very sensitive to smell because my nose is almost permanently half blocked. And if there are other smells at home, or the smell of semen is frequently felt, then people may notice it less.
