How often does he take rubbish out?

Hello All,
How often does does your partner take the rubbish out? 80% of the time I do this chore only because if I don't then the boyfriend will just leave it and pack it down and eventually will leave rubbish just lying around. It's totally yuck and I tell him so but then he says that I'm nagging Angry it's really unfair. He lives like a student and that bother as it feels like he's not respecting our place or me! Tell me your stories and lets compare numbers!

My ex used to have 'taking the rubbish out' alert him from his bloody electronic 'to do list' (seriously), and text me from the pub where he was getting wankered instead of coming home to inform me which bins to wheel out to the street, so he could tick it off and feel an achievement. So 0%.

123Jump · 10/12/2013 07:11

Both of us take the rubbish out. Just whoever is there when it is full.
DH puts out the bins, if he isn't here then I do. He also puts out the bins of all the elderly neighbours.

tumbletumble · 10/12/2013 07:34

I do it.

HECTheHeraldAngelsSing · 10/12/2013 07:39

Always. I crush it down in the kitchen bin and he eveuntually gets fed up Grin

HECTheHeraldAngelsSing · 10/12/2013 07:40

Oh do you mean puts it on the street?
he does that too.

HSMMaCM · 10/12/2013 07:41

I used to do it all. Now we do internal bins 50/50 and external bins 99% him.

We've never discussed it ... it just happens.

Sunshine200 · 10/12/2013 07:46

Thank you for reminding me to put the bin out today! 50/50 I'd say but only me who puts the bin out for the bin men unless I ask him to.

Badvocatyuletide · 10/12/2013 07:46

Always,
Garden/bins/recycling...they are his remit.
Mine is everything else :)

BitOutOfPractice · 10/12/2013 07:53

The juxtaposition of summermovedon and 123jump's posts there was stark!!

My bf doesn't even live with me and he dies it if it needs doing. I put the bind out for collectin though. It's a dark art

ArtVandelay · 10/12/2013 08:08

Bins and recycling is my area. Its really easy so i dont mind, in fact if we had job re-assignments i would claim bins over washing-up or doing insurance (some of DHs jobs) anytime.

cherrytree63 · 10/12/2013 08:10

I take the majority of inside rubbish to the outside bin. He always puts the bin out on dustbin day. When he moved in with me he got me into recycling, but I always took the stuff to the recycling bins at the supermarket. Now we have the recycling collections we are both responsible for filling the boxes, but he puts them out for collection.

FeetUpUnitilChristmas · 10/12/2013 08:12

There are 4 of us in this house 2 adults and 2 teenagers, everyone can and does put the bin out, I probably empty the kitchen bin the most and DH pulls the bins out more than I do, the DC do it when asked or if it's full.

Same with the recycling which is much easier now as we have a large wheelie bin that all the dry recycling goes in.

The bins are never overflowing.

CatAmongThePigeons · 10/12/2013 08:13

It's supposed to be Hs job, I have to do it fairly regularly (him enjoying seeing the bin spewing over the kitchen floor) but he is getting better as they're the only jobs he has to do in the house

CaptainHindsight · 10/12/2013 08:17

when the bin is full it gets emptied Hmm

Even 9 y/o DS is capable of doing that!

BobaFettTheHalls · 10/12/2013 08:22

I can't remember the last time I did it, early 2011 maybe?

It's on DH's list. Clearly¡

BakerStreetSaxRift · 10/12/2013 08:25

Him, blue job.

I think I've taken it out two or three times.

But, the bin will fill up within a daytime a half, but he'll spend the next few days squashing more in. Then vast setting stuff beside it. Fucks me off.

BakerStreetSaxRift · 10/12/2013 08:26

Day and*

AcheyFanny · 10/12/2013 08:36

99% of the time. We have rubbish collection twice a week, three in summer.

mumof2teenboys · 10/12/2013 09:13

Never. I do all the bins and recycling. He isn't even sure which bins are emptied each week. He does cut the hedge and mow the lawn which fills up the garden waste bin. I hate the garden waste bin, it smells horrible so I am more than happy that he fills it and I just wheel it out.

QuietTiger · 10/12/2013 09:25

DH puts the black bins out on rubbish day, it's 50/50 who empties the internal bins/recycling. I do most of the cat litter boxes as they make DH squeemish.

PPaka · 10/12/2013 09:32

What's a blue job?!
