Is off to delete the campervan reference...... Blush !!

Oh I'm really crap at this !! Maybe I could pose as a man and see some other women's profiles as I have no idea....??

I was messaging a guy the other day and telling him my hobbies etc. and I thought ( and told him) I sounded soooo dreary!! I'm not dreary ( I don't think) help maybe I need some help too!

As for photos I have 3 photos of me and I don't like 3 of them! No one ever took photos of me and selfies always look like I'm in pain!! I did try the timer today but it fell over and I got a lovely pic of my light fitting ( which some may say is far more attractive)

lorna do you think ??

I have had a guy message me a couple of times today then send me his mobile no. I read his profile and it was a bit hmm! But I think we could have some things in common and he's local ( and not 65!!) not sure if he's being irreverent or is just a mysogynist!

PlotTwist · 06/08/2013 00:34

sidles in can I join in? Pretty new to mumsnet, though not to OD.

lurkinglorna · 06/08/2013 00:39

Well he then asked "what are your 3 favourite features of yourself?"

Hmm

So I sent back , my , and my

Grin

I then got two messages going

"what? they were all starred out?"

"what?"

Oh dear I'm off to bed, looks like I won't have time to continue this conversation Grin

Overtheraenboew most normal people are "dreary" - we're not all skydiving and on exotic holidays! if you think there are things making you "hmm" you could maybe post the gist of them on the thread - I don't think anyone has the perfect screening technique but maybe they'll be things others can pick up on?

night thread! Smile

lurkinglorna · 06/08/2013 00:40

hi (and good night) plottwist! Smile

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 06/08/2013 05:54

And the bounciest and most interesting bloke who lives in Eastern Europe is flying back to the UK in early Sept to see me. Well not just to see me, but I am promised a trip in his plane...

DFU new username please, I would like to carry out my inspection of your updates?Grin

ROAR!

KinNora · 06/08/2013 06:26

Morning everyone,
(I'm up to take the dog out for a walk, she's kicking up a fuss)

Twinny - you're a fast worker and no mistake, have fun.

I'd actually forgotten my shoes were on my profile, I thought it might still have been Software's painting, Bill you look about 30, Snape, you are both better looking and a better writer than TF ( I read her book and was rather disappointed) .

Have a fabulous day, chaps.

TigsytheTiger · 06/08/2013 07:19

I am very very curious nosey, all the lovelies that I've seen from this thread are indeed lovely! Inside and out Grin, I go on my holibobs in 2 days [over excited emoticon] happy to share my fizzog via the medium of face bastard, if you pm. Love that word ..... FIZZOG!

TigsytheTiger · 06/08/2013 07:20

Nora, what happened with software I'm having a memory blank!

KinNora · 06/08/2013 07:50

Tigsy I gently told Software that he would be better off finding someone else, lovely bloke but he didn't butter my parsnips woodpecker kissing

I hope your holiday is utterly fantastic.

porridgecarver · 06/08/2013 08:07

Morning everyone! Just been catching up with this thread. I am put off by the exotic holiday/travel shots as I feel that as a pretty skint single Mum I won't be able to keep up with all that type of fun! Like outdoors photos in this country though but then I am a bit of a sucker for a climber/mountain biker etc!!

Any of you seasoned OD-ers give me some tips re overlapping first dates? I now have one tomorrow and one on Friday and just been asked on another...bit of a bus thing going on, none then they all come at once?! Anyway, have agreed to the wed and fri obviously and am holding a lot more hope for Friday than Wed, but now the new offer is also from somoen who looks pretty good match, can I really have 3 dates set up and how do I cope with any second date offers as I can kind of deal with overlapping 3 first dates (just) but not sure about second dates if I get any??!!

Flipper934 · 06/08/2013 08:14

Hello all,

I am most impressed that you are all making the most of my Good Feeling! There's too much news to mention you all, but it's lovely to see new faces and some older ones back again - I do love it when people pop back in to say hi and tell us how they're getting on.

I've had a second date with MA, which was just as lovely as the first, and am hoping to see him again one evening this week. Am quite Smile about it. I have a reservation, but that's about me rather than him, and can wait.

I have also put in a new cosmic order (well, seeing as the woo is working...).

The profiles and pictures I've seen of the people on this thread are gorgeous, and don't seem representative of the people out there on the sites!

KinNora · 06/08/2013 08:33

Flipper you're lining up a third date ? that's fantastic , about bloody time you had some good news.

Porridge not sure I can offer any particularly relevant advice but I think it might be worth reviewing the situation after the first dates, you know what it's like, the outcome could be anything from all of them having the sex appeal of David Brent to the dates being like a re-run of Mark Anthony meeting Cleopatra.

bigstrongmama · 06/08/2013 08:34

porridge I realised I can't cope with texting more than one at a time, so when it got to the dating stage sent everyone but my favourite a message saying I've arranged a date with someone so am taking a break as I didn't fancy multiple dating...they all said they were fine with it...and I think I could maybe give them a shout later if I want.

Someone said (either on here, or on come dine with me or something!) that they dated 5 different men in the same restaurant in the same week...so it can be done! Don't think I have the room in my head for 5...plus if you turn down a second date with one in favour of another, you can't go back!

porridgecarver · 06/08/2013 08:45

Kin I am sure with my run of luck at the mo it will be David Brents!!!!

Big strong I did that the other time I had a potential overlap and it worked well, Fri night guy is actually the one who had the don't fancy multiple dating message last time and has obviously bided his time and asked me out again, ach, why don't they space themselves out!! My prob is if I don't set something up for this weekend I then have Wed evening next week for an hour or its a fortnight away, suppose it would sort the wheat from the chaff a bit though....

bigstrongmama · 06/08/2013 08:58

Porridge If you think it'll be fun, go for it! Waiting two weeks just to find out you don't like someone would be annoying...

porridgecarver · 06/08/2013 09:08

I think it may make me a bit angsty, what if I like them both and get asked for second dates, not really likely with my track record so far but if it occured it would mash my mind!!

Bant · 06/08/2013 09:28

porridge - deal with that situation if it arises, don't worry about it till then.

When I said last night that I got messaged by three women from OD all at the same time, and I said they were like buses, I actually meant they were all big and red and noisy..

porridgecarver · 06/08/2013 09:37

Ha ha Bant like the back of a bus??!!!!

Hamwidgeandcheps · 06/08/2013 09:38

I've been told many times they are lying in bed. Is it to assure you they possess a bed do you think?

porridgecarver · 06/08/2013 09:54

Like the poorer mans equivalent of owning their own flat??!! Or maybe to prove they are in said bed alone and not with a wife peering over their shoulder??!!!

DadfromUncle · 06/08/2013 09:55

GrinHam It's a variation on "own house and car" I suppose!

porridgecarver · 06/08/2013 10:04

Own bed, duvet AND pillows!!!!

porridgecarver · 06/08/2013 10:04

What more could a single girl want!!

JulietteMontague · 06/08/2013 10:21

Happy Birthday Bill, 40s are great and I wish you all that you want Smile

Ham sometimes its because they are living with therr parents and that is indeed the equivlent of having thier own flatmen

DFU I did have a look at your old profile but have very little wifi to compose a proper message on my phone.

Plot welcome!

Bant and Mermaid sitting in a tree... brilliant
