Bedroom toy question

RedchairBluechair · 08/06/2013 21:26

I?m a man, in a relatively new relationship, and the bedroom department is going nicely thanks for asking. We both have quite vanilla a backgrounds, although in my last relationship my partner had a massager/vibrator which we both used and had fun with. My new ladyfriend has hinted she would like us to be a bit more experimental, and she has her 6oth birthday coming up I?d like to get her (us) something but don?t want to get anything gauche or intimidating. Ideas on what/where to buy? I?ve lurked in the appropriate section of Boots, but would struggle taking anything up to the till as the woman behind it might likely know us ?small towns!

I assumed it was a quandry relating to a DCs desire for toys-that-live-in-the-garden, toys-that-live-in-the-bathroom and toys-that-live-in-the-bedroom to be interchangable. We have a rule that any given toy may make such a transition once, but only ever once in its lifetime. No toy is allowed to become a bedroom toy again if it previously changed from bedroom to bathroom...

The fact that some are now using their common sense and casting doubt on the motives of the original query (and no polite 'thank you for your help') helps to prove my point.
No-one is going to tell me that it's at all common for a woman to take a notion to 'start experimenting' on her 60th birthday! They'd be few and far between. It's like "Yeah.... right!"
I live in the real world. And there's a lot of disgruntled men of that kind of age who inhabit it. That is, if they can still get it up and haven't started to lose interest themselves.

I'm in my late 60s, have no man in my life but do have my trusty finger vibrator Grin

Wildflower, what a load of crap! Many women find that their libido increases from mid 50's onwards, when concerns about contraception are no longer relevant.
A 60 y/o woman in a new relationship isn't necessarily any different or less 'lusty' than a 30 y/o woman in a new relationship. In fact if she's been married for many years she's probably loving the thrill of someone new to experiment with.

That said I did think the OP was just another wank fodder type post but not because I doubt that a 60 y/o can have a fun sex life, more that this seemed an odd place to ask the question and it was their first post.

I am the OP . An interesting thread so far. I think you will have to take me at my word that I did not post for jollies. I am a parent and have been an observer on MN for some time. My new partner and I have both had quiet bedroom lives long-term. I was out of a relationship for about a year, she for much longer, and we are very active and would like more interest. Wildflower you have a nice turn of phrase, but have a cynical side?. Anyway, I?m grateful for the advice.

OP, ok I'll take your word for it.
If you do a search here you'll find that there are quite a few threads on the topic but my advise is to talk to your partner and look for something together, so she has some input. There are loads of sites online you could browse, but lovehoney has been mentioned here and elsewhere.
