I'm here.

Brew for Stars.

Flowers for cafe. I can only imagine how painful it is to lose a child and I hope you're ok.

kitty, DD did the faceplant thing too. It's horrible, isn't it? We ended up taking her to A&E because we thought she'd put her teeth through her lip (this was the loyalty card phase). Cuddles for minikitty.

Hugs for all - I have just been raving about you all on another thread. Raving in a good way, obviously Smile.

I am a bad mummy today, we had a manic day involving DCs great granny, DH playing golf and a temporarily lost class mascot that meant driving about 20 miles in the wrong direction to collect and two calls to my very confused Granny who thought aforementioned mascot was in the pub when dozy DD had left it at Granny's house (she is 92 - my Granny, not DD! - and not as with it as she was although she can still deliver a cracking Lady Grantham put down). Anyway, the long and the short of it was I ended up shouting at DS because he was yo-yoing at bedtime. Not his fault - he'd been to sleep in the car so wasn't tired - but I had no fuse left. Poor DCs, they've gone to bed thinking their Mummy is horrible Sad.

Fine, thanks! Show was brilliant last night and was so happy to see DS!

Have been giving the benefit of my advice on a couple of other threads!!! Invited one poor girl to join us on here ...

Saw first bluebell in flower today in our shared garden ... won't mean much to many people but it was quite a thrill for me! My DD1 will be here in 5 weeks with her husband and baby. DD1 is a child of CG but now lives in NZ. Will see my GD2 for the first time! She will be over a year old by then - v. excited! Have pics of my other GC in the bluebell woods down the road so hope to continue the theme!!!

Are you ok? Cafe and SD not on here yet - hope that they're both alright! Best wishes!

BlueyDragon · 13/04/2013 23:42

It's quite bittersweet; my DD1 is returning to the UK after 2 1/2 years. Last time, my beloved younger bro decided to pay a surprise visit to see her as he was working in London and decided to visit CG but neither he nor I knew that she was off to the smoke to visit old uni friends on that very evening! Bro and I still had a brilliant time together but I was so very sorry that my DDs had missed their uncle's visit; you know the rest!

I love singing and dancing; so did my little bro! Can see him now - always first up on the dance floor and pulling me towards him!!! We used to crack up with laughter at our children's reactions!

jynier · 14/04/2013 03:35

Getting a bit maudlin now; anyone up? Need some cheeriness (not even sure if that's a real word! Beloved little bro wrote the programme for the New Oxford Dictionary of English and loved all of his time working at the Bodleian Library!)

BlueyDragon · 14/04/2013 05:39

Morning all! I was sleeping, MrsS, both minidragons have slept through too. Now I could do with a bacon sarnie but it's 5.30 am and I have no bacon; also trying to shift the post-chemo weight which wine really helps .

jynier, it's going to be a beautiful day. Some sunshine, or at least warmth, should be coming to Camberwick Green.

mini, I forgot to say Sad about mini kitty.

themidwife · 14/04/2013 08:56

Mornin all - we all all rubbish insomniacs!! We're all asleep at night! Grin

themidwife · 14/04/2013 08:56

Minimammoth · 14/04/2013 15:14

themidwife · 14/04/2013 22:21

Hey Daddy!!!! How are you? Smile

SummerDad · 14/04/2013 22:37

hehehe daddy is good just a bit high you can say lol. It is such a weird feeling to be under the effect of codeine. By the way, thanks for your advice re fybogel it is really helpful Grin

How are things at your side. I see a change in your name Wink

jynier · 14/04/2013 23:16

Present and correct, Dad!

Hope that you are feeling a bit better by now!

Have been having a bit of an argument on FB about Snopes and rat urine!

Has anyone else been drawn into this controversy???

SummerDad · 14/04/2013 23:20

nah doesnt sound like a pleasant one though Confused how are you doing jynier Smile

jynier · 14/04/2013 23:48

Not so good, really; the insomniacs were all asleep last night when I needed them!!!

My darling bro died at 10 past 2 on a Sunday; my sister and I arrived at the hospital 10 minutes later and our older brother about 30 mins after us (can't remember exactly).

It was a glorious day here today and at 10 past 2 (by coincidence) was up the hill. Just stood gazing across the fields drinking in the view of our beautiful estuary and wishing that my bro was still here!

jynier · 15/04/2013 00:18

Am absolutely convinced that my little bro was put on the Liverpool Care Pathway; I was not allowed to make a complaint against the hospital as I am not his next-of-kin! Could not press it with my darling SIL and bro's 4 children as it would have added to their grief!

Realised immediately that my bro was in a terminal ward the last time that I saw him (his wife had no idea!) and would not have recognized him if he hadn't waved to me and my older bro.

There is a programme on Radio 4 next Tuesday evening (16th April) at 8.00 p.m. entitled "How to Have a Good Death." It's all about the Liverpool Care Pathway. Probably won't mention that hospitals get paid for each patient that they place on the LCP!

themidwife · 15/04/2013 00:34

Gosh Jynier is that true? Why do they get paid?
Glad the fybogel is effective Dad - codeine has the evils!!
New name - kinda got sick of the old one! Wink

SummerDad · 15/04/2013 00:46

Jynier, fingers crossed wont fall asleep for quite a while tonight so you might have a company tonight, hopefully Smile

midwife codeine is a life saver too, this pain would be excruciating otherwise so you got rid of 99, did the number roll over to 00 Wink
