tomorrow I hand over my children to the OW for the first time

I don't know what else to say, just need a hand hold tonight.

OW and STBXH are now house hunting 15 mins from my house, and spending EOW with my baby and DS. They have been lying about her being there right up until today. I finally reached the end of my tether, while listening to DS1 tell me all about house hunting with OW all day, having been told he was with only his dad and granny.

So I called STBXH and told him I'm over it, it's time to stop pretending I'm an ogre who can't bear to meet her, and to bring her to handover. If she's going to be on my doorstep and having my children in her home, I need to know who she is. She took my baby DS2 swimming with his dad today - it was his first swim. I am far beyond anger now and I'm just sad about it all :(

Not sure what to say to her, but I would like to take her to one side when STBXH is putting the kids in the car, and say look - I know you and I aren't going to be friends, but my children are my priority, and I need to know they are safe and happy when they're not with me. If you ever don't know what to do, or you're on your own with them and you think they need me, please know that it's ok to call me and I'll be fine with you. Then give her my number.

Is that mad? Or sensible and mature?

This is a moment I need a mumsnet straw poll :(

Could PALS help with you with taking your complaint about the Gp surgery a bit further if you hang done so already. Their attitude sounds disgusting at the surgery.'

blackcurrants · 12/02/2013 21:48

YAY! YAY! YAY!

I would absolutely go for the country pub option myself, best for cosy quiet chats. And you can kick it up a notch with the glam on a second date at somewhere a bit more classy.

But then, I'm a pub person - quiet enough to talk, booze available, I don't have to put a skirt on ... lazy, basically! :)

Jux · 12/02/2013 22:04

Oohoo! Pom poms awaving here too!!! You clever, clever thing, Choco.

Country pub, definitely. Have fun.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 13/02/2013 08:48

Well done with your project choco, bloody brilliant.
God help Phil the Drill tonight! He won't know what's hit him.
Have fun.

Walkacrossthesand · 13/02/2013 09:05

Delurking to add another from the south coast, well done you! I was where you are re DH 20 years ago and there wasn't/I didn't know about MN, my poor SIL bore the brunt of the offloading! I take it Mr Chips did the vanishing thing? More fool him - looking forward to your phil the drill update later!

Thumbwitch · 13/02/2013 09:29

Yay Choco! Fantabulous news! Raaah! Another vote for country pub with atmosphere and open fire :)
Yes to contacting PALS - it should be standard Data Protection to not give out personal details to any random who phones, regardless of who they say they are.

Bamboozled - glad the back thing is on its way to resolution

Blackcurrants - eep and Grin at your birth story

bamboozled · 13/02/2013 11:50

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 13/02/2013 13:48

chocoreturns · 13/02/2013 15:15

Yes, have fun tonight and update us before you go to bed

Midwife99 · 13/02/2013 17:50

Have a great time!!!

Skyebluesapphire · 13/02/2013 17:59

Well, they closed the McDonalds where you live, so that's one place out of the equation Grin

Seriously, I hope you have a wonderful evening with Mr Dentist. xx

brianbennettfan · 13/02/2013 18:57

Sorry, but I just have to do this:

CHOOOOCOOOO! YOOOOU ROOOOCK!

Cor blimey, nearly did myself a mischief then.

Have a lovely evening, girl Thanks

chocoreturns · 13/02/2013 19:01

Ha! skye what do you mean? Is a big mac not an acceptable first date meal Grin
(ps can you PM me your number for work purposes please? Need to chat to an accountant quick smart!)

I've had a steadying Wine and my parents are here to babysit now. Although shockingly, it would seem that in the space of two to three days since cutting back on the feeds I've been giving DS2, he's decided to go on a nursing strike himself and all of a sudden I seem to be sporting teabag tits the complete opposite to gigantic funbags. Timing!!!

chezziejo · 13/02/2013 19:29

Good luck for tonight can't wait for the update Grin seeing as I can't lie down after my back went and I sat in a heap in the snow looking a right twerp. I'm now walking like I've shat mysel. f

Had a word with boss today who said the GPS have commuted a massive breach of confidentiality and try Pals xx

SauvignonBlanche · 13/02/2013 19:53

Hope all goes well. Grin

Doha · 13/02/2013 20:00

Be good...and if you can't be good be careful Smile Wink

bamboozled · 13/02/2013 21:28

Anyone else as sad as me... Sitting around wondering how her date is going - and it's only 9.25... It's going to be a long night...
Sorry to hear about your fall chezzijo... Would you like something from my marvellous medicine drawer - I've pretty much got the lot Grin -hard core drugs down to some cream - actual medicine, not homeopathic twaddle, made from chillies.... V weird...

chocoreturns · 13/02/2013 22:42

chezzi and bamboozled I hate to have such poor gossip for you - would love to be able to provide light relief! I hope your backs are feeling better...

I'm home watching Russel Howards' good news lol, alone. As for the date, well...He was lovely in a very 'we could be good mates way' but the striking resemblance to my sister's husband was the first nail in the coffin... zero chemistry! I feel a bit bad actually because he really was lovely, but nope. Definitely not gossip fodder.

Yep, sipping tea and lurking.

V unhappy as my 7yr old DD apparently announced she doesn't love me and wrote as much in a Valentines card. Am a bit gutted Sad as I thought I was doing a brill job.

BerylStreep · 13/02/2013 22:52

Oh x post! Glad you had a nice night, even if it might not develop. Nice to dip your toe in the water.

chocoreturns · 13/02/2013 22:59

oh bless you Beryl don't take it to heart. Children go through funny turns all the time and tomorrow she will probably be lovely as pie. She has no idea at 7 what that means anyway, although it hurts like hell when kids say things like that (and my DS1 has said some corkers this year) remember that she'll be crying for her lovely mummy when she needs you and running for cuddles from you just as quickly as she says she doesn't need them. Have a hug from us in the meantime, I have NO doubt that you ARE doing a brill job xx
