Is your dp a grungy devil or smelling gorgeous every day ? Mine can scrub up well when he makes the effort but sometimes. . .oh dear, lets not mention his underpants, socks. They should have a health warning on them. LOL LOL !Last few partners were ok in that region but have a grubby one now. Love a man who is immaculate and takes pride in his appearance, is smart, fashionable and smells good. (no you dont have to be gay) Is your man grungy or gorgeous ? ?

I once posted a thread about being...

The Wife Of The Kipper.

Says it all

(he's a bit better now)

SleepyJess · 21/04/2006 18:40

Mine look a bit grungy and unshaven... but alwways smells yummy. DD (7) often writes elaborate stories about her family and daddy smelling nice always features in it somewhere. And when she writes cards to him she puts 'to Daddy.. I love you and you smell nice...' Grin

It's this Body Shop stuff that he wears.. can't remember what its called.. something beginnning with J....

maltesers · 21/04/2006 18:41

he does wash daily. just cant get submerged in water or he'll get zapped lol. he smells lovely, he wears aftershave, but has a hint of eua de hospital as well.

SleepyJess · 21/04/2006 18:52

I would imagine Peter is disinfected regularly with Hibiscrub or whatever it is called Grin! The NHS do have standards!!! Wink

misdee · 21/04/2006 18:52

only when he gets called for transplant. then he has to shave all over as well. Grin

starlover · 21/04/2006 18:53

mine is most definitely NOT grungy!

clean pants and socks every day, shower every day and a wash before bed!

he's cleaner than I am Blush

SleepyJess · 21/04/2006 18:54

My ex would win the medal for this.. he was a right smegma factory I can tell you!! [puke emoticon]

Oh I have made myself feel sick now...

JonesTheSteam · 21/04/2006 18:55

starlover - I could have posted that about my DH!!!!!!

blueteddy · 21/04/2006 18:57

Mine can look a scruff - especially when he is in his work fleece & has not shaved for a few days!
He is very clean & hygenic though & cannot go without a shower every day. He is also very particular about his clothes (when not at work that is!) & spends a fortune on them.

spidermama · 21/04/2006 19:01

Mine's an utter ming monger and I have to force him to have the two or three showers he has a week and to brush his teeth even once a day.
I regularly beg him, for the kids sake, not to do the school run 'looking like that', but he could give a flying fuck. It's the biggest source of tension between us actually and it causes me a great deal of misery.

It's not just his personal hygene either. It's his contribution to household dirt and his insistence that we keep the family car like a slimy, batchelor angler's vehicle. What's more, he's passing on bad habits to the kids.

I have to say though, he's gorgeous and has many other talents. He's a great dad. He takes the kids fishing, tree climbing etc. He's creative which means he creates mess as well as everything else. I love him dearly but if I could change one thing, and believe me I've tried, it would be his attitude to dirt.

(Big sigh or bitter resignation.)

I seem to remember TambatheDS knows where I'm coming from here.

notasheep · 22/04/2006 01:37

Dp stinks the bedroom out

joash · 22/04/2006 01:38

Mine always looks nice - whilst I go around loking like a raggy old dishcloth Smile

ghosty · 22/04/2006 02:45

My husband is always clean and yummy unless he has been exercising or doing stuff in the garden. I couldn't be married to a grunge bucket ... went out with one for 3 years and in the end I couldn't take it anymore ...

maltesers · 22/04/2006 16:12

Spiderama i can empathise. Have gone on at my dp to wash more. What i hate is him coming to bed without even washing his hands or cleaning his teeth. Why do men only wash in the morning?

OP posts:
irishskifiend · 22/04/2006 16:57

sorry my DH is very, very, very clean, I can't imagine him not having a shower every day or cleaning his teeth twice a day.

he used to do manual labour and HATES being dirty, he used to come home strip in the porch and head straight for the shower, in summer it is known for him to have up to 3 showers in a day if he feels to sweaty.

sorry couldn't put up with grunge, would have to disinfect him !

expatinscotland · 22/04/2006 17:02

shower every day. shave every other day. he doesn't have much hair anymore, but he keeps it short and closely cropped. easy to keep clean.

i can't take fellas who don't wash. that's just nasty.

or ones who don't respect their things - filthy car, house, etc. if they don't value their car, home, etc. what else do they not value?

picnikel · 22/04/2006 17:11

DH borders on obsessive about cleanliness but he is a wee bit meterosexual anyway. I'm a slut - am happy not to shower every day (which poor DH finds utterly horrifying) and have a tendency to leave my leg hair long over winter (for warmth purposes y'know Wink).

I find it amusing that DH's beauty regime in the mornings takes longer than mine Grin! He looks & smells lovely though.

SenoraPostrophe · 22/04/2006 17:15

oh god - don't get me started on people who think it's "disgusting" to have a shower less than once a day. grrr.

dh does his bit in the water rationing dept though I must say. probably more than is stricttly called for.

picnikel · 22/04/2006 17:19

I think it's bad for your skin to wash too much - dries it out! People who think it's disgusting are usually obsessive about washing towels IME. The world could be a better place if we washed less - no hosepipe bans Wink. Poor dd gets a bath a week as I'm convinced washing small children too much makes them more susceptible to eczema......
