blueabc · 02/12/2012 01:42

He kept on making really abusive comments all day. Really bad mood. I have no idea why.

Now he went out with friends, came back drunk and hit me. I took photos. Currently locked myself in bathroom.

Are you on a phone?

Maybe you should call the police.

BOFingSanta · 02/12/2012 01:46

I would suggest calling the police rather than posting on the internet- your immediate safety is the main concern at this point.

goralka · 02/12/2012 01:47

call the police

blueabc · 02/12/2012 01:49

Yes I am. I can't call the police though. I have no doubt he will make me look bad. He knows people iyswim.

BOFingSanta · 02/12/2012 01:51

Ok.

So what do you want out of mumsnet?

If you are frightened enough to be locked in the bathroom, I still think the police is the most sensible option.

blueabc · 02/12/2012 01:52

I don't know. Some reassurance I guess. I realize that nobody can tell me its ok though because it isn't. I'm hoping he will leave soon.

OP posts:
goralka · 02/12/2012 01:53

you can call the police and they will bail him to stay away from you.

missymoomoomee · 02/12/2012 01:53

Please please call the police. He can't make you look bad, he is drunk, you are injured. Do it now that its just happened instead of leaving it so he can concoct a story.

brighthair · 02/12/2012 01:55

You need to ring the police. How bad can he make you look? You are the one with an injury, he hit you.
If a drunk stranger hit you then you would ring the police

BOFingSanta · 02/12/2012 01:56

Ring the police.

Mumsnet is useful for many things, but emergency help for someone locked in the bathroom after being assaulted is not one of them.

blueabc · 02/12/2012 02:00

I don't think the police will help that much. He is very manipulative and believable. I'm really worried about calling them.

OP posts:
brighthair · 02/12/2012 02:01

If you are frightened he will hear you can you text a friend? Well done for taking photos btw
I'm up if you need anything. Get angry now, and get help

goralka · 02/12/2012 02:03

no they will believe you that is the way it goes these days, especially if you have bruises/bloody nose whatever.
Do it.
Why are you worried?
Did you hit him first?
even if you did, call them anyway if you are scared in your home.

brighthair · 02/12/2012 02:03

Seriously don't be. The police are pretty good at seeing what has happened, and you said you have injuries. I know I probably sound harsh but you can sit there and leave it and wait for him to hit you again or you can get out and report him now. You don't have to tolerate it, it's not right

missymoomoomee · 02/12/2012 02:03

They are used to seeing people like that, he may be manipulative and believable to you but the police will have dealt with his like before. Just call 999. He assaulted you.

blueabc · 02/12/2012 02:04

I have very few friends and I doubt anyone would be up now. I'm not scared that anything will happen now, he's not trying to get into the bathroom. I'm just scared about what this means.

OP posts:
goralka · 02/12/2012 02:06

I guess it means you are finished.
Just call them.

blueabc · 02/12/2012 02:07

I'm worried because I don't know if they will believe me. I'm also worried what allegations he may make against me. I don't want to make myself too identifiable but he works in a profession that would help him get out of this.

OP posts:
brighthair · 02/12/2012 02:07

It is scary because it probably feels like he's not the person you knew. Has he left?

missymoomoomee · 02/12/2012 02:08

It means you need to get the hell away from him. Has he done this before?

blueabc · 02/12/2012 02:08

I've heard some noise but not sure. I'll wait a few minutes then check and put the safety latch on if he's gone.

OP posts:
LoopsInHoops · 02/12/2012 02:09

What on earth could he say that would stop you being believed? Seriously, you're just panicking. Call them.

brighthair · 02/12/2012 02:10

Please don't give him the chance to do it again. Even if you report him, it means its logged just in case. Keep the photos

blueabc · 02/12/2012 02:10

Yes this has happened before but not like this. I don't know what it was about today. He's been having a go at me for the most petty things.

OP posts:
missymoomoomee · 02/12/2012 02:11

Call them now. They will come and see the state both of you are in and know what happened.
