Ahem, "douse also dowse...to plunge into liquid, immerse"
(from the freedictionary.com)

Have you hear from Surrey Girl at all Bantam? You sound a bit flat. Hope you enjoy tonight anyway.

smokin can you give Saturday man another name - something without the days of the week in? I'm finding it very confusing!

WarmFuzzyFun · 21/11/2012 16:55

I am supposed to have a date tomorrow (Action Man). However, although he contacted me to say 'haven't forgotten' he hasn't given me any details, so consequently I doubt that I will be anywhere but at home tomorrow night.

CBA to sort out anything else. Have semi parked on sofa

I may follow lubey's lead and do some shopping

smokinaces · 21/11/2012 16:57

I don't know what to nickname him. And his pof nickname is no good. Mmmmm. What shall I call him?! He's a banker, plays football, likes chelsea, looks a bit like johnny knoxville. Someone think of a nickname for me, I'm crappy at it!

Yogagirl17 · 21/11/2012 16:59

Hi PinkPeanuts, welcome. Smile

Sorry Fuzzy but can't get the image of a genital-free Action Man figure out of my head!! I'm also semi parked on the sofa but since I can't afford to shop, wondering what other activities one does when dating oneself? Wink

Milkandlotsandlotsofwine · 21/11/2012 17:01

WFF There is something rather hilarious about him contacting you to say he knows he hasn't given you the details & then STILL not giving you them!

bant Good luck with your date. Hope it goes well,

I have a 2nd date with my man boy tomorrow night. He is talking me to the pictures. I am hoping for a bit of snogging in the back row action.Grin

Hi YogaGirl, thanks for the welcome :)

Milkandlotsandlotsofwine · 21/11/2012 17:02

yoga I can think of one activity for when one is on the sofa alone but I had better not say it aloud in case delicate eyes are reading! Wink

Hi all, can I join in.

Been OD on and off for about 6 months, since ending my 25year LTR.
1st time round, had my very own virtual thing which lasted several months, it was just what I needed at the time if I am honest, wasn't ready for anything more. Did meet 5 perfectly ok men during this, no sex involved, treated it as a bit of fun.
Did the disappearing thing to my virtual chap in the end, was becoming too addictive and possibly unhealthy.

Met a lovely bloke in RL who I had a great time with, unfortunately he already had a 6 month trip to OZ planned. I played the whole thing really cool, as he was younger than me and no kids yet. He has been gone 2 months now, I still miss him.

Recently went back on POF to try and take my mind off my oz chap and have had my first and hopefully only fuck and run bloke. Not overly bothered, he didn't mean anything to me. I am a tough old bird. But wondering if he makes a habit of this, maybe I should get myself checked out for STI. Fuck.

hatesponge · 21/11/2012 17:19

milk I am slightly envious, I haven't been to the cinema on a date since I first met the Evil Ex, so about 12 years ago...

Many years ago I went on a date to see Trainspotting. My date had lost his job that day. It wasn't the cheeriest of evenings!

ike1 · 21/11/2012 17:28

Sponge, I regularly date myself at the cinema, i believe Yoga does too. tis good!

PinkPeanuts · 21/11/2012 17:32

Hi Milk!

I should probably introduce myself properly!

I've been single for 4 and a half years, in that time I've managed to become I single parent (I'm that percentage of the population that the morning after pill didn't work for Grin to a beautiful little girl.

I've given online dating a go but I never seem to get anywhere with it where as my friends seem to be going on date after date after date! Since I tried it for the first time three years ago, I've been on ONE measly date! Am I completely undateable? Am I on the wrong website (POF) not sure what I'm doing wrong really!

Milkandlotsandlotsofwine · 21/11/2012 17:42

I've only been on 2 cinema dates in about 7 years hate so no need to go green with envy just yet!

48 I think we've all been caught out by Mr f**k and run at least once in our lives. Shit happens etc, etc. If you weren't, erm, 'careful' then an STI check to put your mind at rest sounds like a good idea to me.

pink I've only been on a handful of dates in over the year I've been using online dating. I find that I'm very easily put off by even the slightest thing that makes me go Confused though. I've never tried POF, it get's mixed reviews but some people swear by it. What is your messaging style? are you happy to make the first move or are you waiting for the fish to catch you? Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go for it. It is hard though. I can't imagine how anybody manages to find guy after guy to go out on dates with. Unless they are happy to date any old dross that get's in touch that is!

smokinaces · 21/11/2012 17:43

48 did you use a condom? They're pretty safe. Otherwise a quick check wont hurt.

smokinaces · 21/11/2012 17:45

Pink, some do get more dates than others on pof - friend of mine has to hide her profile every few days because of the amount of messages she gets. I'm lucky to get a loser a day. But, saying that I've been on about ten dates from pof in three years. What's your profile like?

natureslaw · 21/11/2012 17:48

Sun - 2nd date, coffee, small 'c' all good.
Mon - 3rd date, day out in city, great company.
4th date rang him on Mon after he'd driven home & asked if he wanted to some back for Coffee (big C).
5th date tonight, out for a meal Smile

Going to call him ironman on here.

smokinaces · 21/11/2012 17:49

Milk, I'm thinking cinema for next fridays date. I like the look of Bradley cooper new film, my kind of thing and if he likes it then its a bonus :-)

Ok so going to rename Saturday guy Mr Knox in ode to the fact my first message replying to him was "anyone told you you really look like that bloke off jackass in your photo"

I fancy a nosey through pof. Passes a wee while ;-)

smokinaces · 21/11/2012 17:50

Nature why ironman? I love iron man. Well Robert downey jnr but ironman will do ;-)

48howdidthathappen · 21/11/2012 17:59

Milk and smokin thanks for replies. No I wasn't careful, its the only thing I am bothered about. Oh well, first STI check, here I come.

smokinaces · 21/11/2012 18:04

48 we have probably all been there. Tbh after a couple of months I wasn't careful with the recent Mr fish, so should go for a check up myself soon.

watchoutforthatsnail · 21/11/2012 18:24

wow, mega stressful few days.

just want to say - nice purchases lubey :)

but ugh, last two days have had more ups and downs than a rollercoaster at alton towers.
DD is up at her dads following a mega D/V bug.
There was a huge cock up with the house paper work ( that wasnt my fault) which was looking like i would be able to move till mid jan.
BUT - in the last hour its 1/2 sorted and the landlady has come up with a plan which means we can draw up the contract, get me in, while the checks are happening. Phew.
I shall be moving on the 12 - 15th dec.
I havent yet told my current agent, and will need to do so friday ( once ive had the final nod) but its all pretty much in stone.
phew.

fayster · 21/11/2012 18:36

Watch' so pleased for you! It really is onwards and upwards now!

Kirsty, be a love and stop hogging all the good ones, will you?Grin Sounds like you're going to have to make a decision soon...

Really sorry, can't keep up with everything you've all been up to, but hello to 48 and Pink, and welcome.

natureslaw · 21/11/2012 18:38

watch that's great, so now it's go,go,go? Have you packed anything yet?
