Hello everyone.

Kirsty the surgeon sounds like an arrogant arse. He's just assumed your going to love him.

Yoga I'm in awe of your dating stamina.

Bantam Grin

I have managed to set up a date for tomorrow. I am seriously considering not going as I have convinced myself it will be rubbish. The chap looks nice enough but from our conversation he just seems a bit too wishy washy for me. However, the sensible part of me knows I should go along if only for the dating practise. I was wondering if any of you wise people had advice on how to cut short a date politely just so I can formulate a get out strategy just in case.

Pof also continues to amaze me. Today I have had messages from Mr Travelling salesman stereotype and Mr AttributeList.

My education continues.........

MadameOvary · 07/11/2012 16:39

MrAttributeList is dreamy but cannae tell the difference between "your" and "You're" Plus he resembles my ex around the eyes

giesabosie · 07/11/2012 16:45

Thought I might reply saying I meet all of his criteria with a list of my own attributes that he must meet. Starting with private wealth and finishing with 10cm penis.

KirstyWirsty · 07/11/2012 16:47

giesa they are both stunning ;-)

KirstyWirsty · 07/11/2012 16:48

10 inches surely???

Yogagirl17 · 07/11/2012 16:52

Bantam I literally LOLed at your reply - both the original and the translated versions, I don't know which was funnier! Thanks, I think that just about made my day. Grin

Scatty The engineer has already suggested we meet for coffee (with a small c), possibly sunday, just haven't confirmed details yet. Quite excited about this one and not just cause he's really really cute

Bosie - my dating stamina? Eeek, not sure what you mean by that...

Yogagirl17 · 07/11/2012 16:54

Bosie - "How many would you score out of 10?" Blurgh

raskolnikov · 07/11/2012 16:55

Giesa is easily satisfied Wink

MadameOvary · 07/11/2012 16:57

Bantam hahahaha! That is brilliant!

MsArseBiscuit · 07/11/2012 17:00

Kirsty, you could send him one of these images xray pin up

I generally just lurk and nick your advice on my own Internet dating escapades, I was told on my first date that although the gentleman involved was teetotal and a non-smoker he had several 'very interesting fetishes', my guess was either an adult baby or a plushy, I didn't hang around to discover if he produced a giant nappy or a squirrel costume.

mercury7 · 07/11/2012 17:18

mr pro photographer looks older than 43 to me...

giesabosie · 07/11/2012 17:25

This is what happens when you learn metric at school and imperial from your mother - eventually you get confused.

yoga - I meant your online dating stamina. You still seem enthusiastic while I am flagging.

faintheartneverwonfairdate · 07/11/2012 17:33

Scatty, I can't fine Mr Lick75. Has he been scared off by the multiple views we have probably set off? I wonder how many lurkers here take a peak too...

mercury7 · 07/11/2012 17:36

presume mr licky was born in 1975..

Pixiebelle123 · 07/11/2012 17:37

Oh POF stories never fail to delight! I've just received this

"mmmmmmm, ure delicious r u open minded too?"

He also rather kindly attached a photo of his hairy chest to the message. Does this actually work with some women?!

Now this doesn't relate to the hairy chest man above but how long do you normally leave it before suggesting meeting up to the guys (girls in your case Bantam) you're talking to online? Or do you wait for them to suggest a date? I don't really like all the messaging and would far rather meet someone quickly to see if there's any chemistry. But think I may have just scared someone off by suggesting meet up too soon, oops.

WarmFuzzyFun · 07/11/2012 17:41

Bant, sooo funny! Grin OMG made my day and my day has been pretty good so far too

OneMoreGo · 07/11/2012 17:59

bant that made my day as well, proper belly laughs here Grin. Fanks!

mercury7 · 07/11/2012 18:00

Pixie, I wait for the bloke to say he wants to meet me, but if he doesnt say so pretty quickly and enthusiastically I lose interest and stop replying

mercury7 · 07/11/2012 18:04

and does anyone find it a bit pathetic when someone e-mails you their picture and in the e-mail says something like 'hope you like if you don't please be gentle'

If I e-mail someone a pic I just say something like hi this is mercury..if they dont reply I just forget about it

mercury7 · 07/11/2012 18:07

WarmFuzzyFun · 07/11/2012 18:24

Mercury, all the reglious references yuck!

Scattylatte · 07/11/2012 18:52

It wasn't licks penis, it was his finger. That's how warped my mind is from a few months on pof.

Mercury and bant I find those posts hillarious.

snapespeare · 07/11/2012 19:02

Ok today thanks scatty. Missing voldemort, but that's ok --he's king of the fuckmuppets. Really busy day at work, ds1 off school again today, but hoping he will be in tomorrow.

OKC message from someone in San Francisco, 'Do you think you are capable of posting a plain, clear, normal picture of you so one can see how you really look like?'

Blocked, because he is desperate for a response, but oh, the temptation to respond, 'no. I was in a fire as a child, died twice - it was pretty touch and go for a while... i suffered 80% burns, two decades of skin transplants has resulted in what may appear to be 'doctored' photographs. However, the pics on my profile were taken with a normal camera. Of course the acid-attack from my stalker didnt really help, but I'm doing ok. Well, I was until a self --aggrandising dick of a man too far away to ever actually contemplate meeting me in real life, thought he'd be a key-board warrior and actually made the effort to send me a critical collection of sausage-fingered thumpings. Thanks. Fuck off.'

Just got a short message from a chap that I nought lived in Manchester. A bit of a 'hi, how are you?!, message, but fuck. Me. He. Is. Gorgeous.

lulubellaboozle · 07/11/2012 19:02

Had a pretty rubbish day, but I have been reading through this thread and can't stop laughing!

Bantam that is hilarious!
Mercury "I want to be your temple in which you can come and go at any time" ?!? methinks there will be more traffic going out than in!

snapespeare · 07/11/2012 19:05

Oh. He changed his location to London.

Now he lives in Cardiff.

Bloody relative dimension shape shifters.
