yeah, but she was cute though. Mad as a box of frogs of course, sweet in her own way. Still not nice upsetting anyone though.

Luckily I have no pets.

Ah well the good news is if things don't work out with CuteNurse there seem to be a large number of really quite attractive women just joined Match since I was last active on there. I. Must. Not. Look at them.

:)

mercury7 · 07/11/2012 01:10

she's a grown up...she should have been able to handle it without the drama queen emotional blackmail text Hmm

Movingforward123 · 07/11/2012 07:26

Hi just marking my place Smile

fayster · 07/11/2012 07:32

Agree with Mercury, it sounds very teenage angsty. Unless it was tongue in cheek, in which case it's quite funny. And it's fine to keep looking, it's still very early days with Cutenurse.

Watch, how are you? I've no words of wisdom, I'm afraid, but I'm sure you'll find a great house, with possibly a lovely new next door neighbour....it's a time of new beginnings for you!

watchoutforthatsnail · 07/11/2012 07:41

Ah. Im not good really. Had awful nightmares about teeth falling out and people trying to murder me .

The plus side is people have all chipped in and i have my deposit covered. I cant afford to pay it back.... but will worry about that later.

Biggest issue is finding somewhere that accepts dogs. Most outright say no. So im not going to mention, then if i do like it produce refs from current letting agent and neighbours either side. And beg.

I was just not going to mention the dog but then i risk getting thrown out. If i havent found somewhere near eviction time then ill have to do this. But at the momment i can try and do it properly.

watchoutforthatsnail · 07/11/2012 07:43

Oh and bant. Yeah. She seems to have equated two dates to being a relatipnship, which is not the case.
You did the right thing for you.

hatesponge · 07/11/2012 09:29

I haven't heard anything from (possibly not so) LC today :(

I have the horrible feeling I am about to be dumped. The fact date 3 isn't arranged is gnawing away at me...it's not the lack of texts per se, I didn't hear from him at all from lunchtime Friday til Sun afternoon and I was fine. It's the lack of date. Because if he really wanted to see me again, he'd suggest something wouldn't he?

VoiceofUnreason · 07/11/2012 09:32

sponge - one of my two very short-lived experiences on OD was with a policewoman. She worked a crazy shift pattern which meant it took 5 weeks to organise the first date (which went superbly well) and then another 3 weeks for the second date. At which point I gave it up as a lost cause, because I wanted to date someone properly and, for me, I don't think anything can grow unless you are actually seeing someone and not just made to feel like a spot in the diary very occasionally.

lubeybooby · 07/11/2012 09:48

Sponge I honestly don't think I've ever consistently had the next date arranged so soon after. He's most likely just a bit more chilled than you and isn't so insecure and on tenterhooks about it so feeling no urgency to arrange something, iyswim.

Don't make me do another emoticon message Wink

bantamrooster · 07/11/2012 10:13

Sponge - sorry, when did you last see LC? As far as I recall you had a pub crawl with him last week (Friday?), then saw him on Monday night - 2 nights ago and that was when he said he wasn't using the OD site anymore since meeting you. And he left it for you to arrange the third date?

Then he couldn't do a short notice thing at yours on Tuesday night

It's Wednesday now, I believe. Stop worrying, text him or mail him and ask if he wants to do something this weekend, if you're free.

If he was texting you every 10 minutes and saying 'I like you. Do you like me? Do you not like me? Do you like the way I do my hair? Did I eat too loudly? Did I not eat loudly enough? Was it because I blew my nose? Is that why you don't like me?'

then you'd dump him. Instead you've got someone who told you they think you're lovely, who you got on really well with, and who said they want another date. And for you to choose the place. It's possible he's at work wondering if you didn't like him enough after all as you didn't rearrange the third date.

Just send him a text. It's been over a day. It's fine. And STOP WORRYING.

raskolnikov · 07/11/2012 10:15

Go on sponge - sort it out.

watchoutforthatsnail · 07/11/2012 10:54

sponge- honesty, dont worry yet. Once a week for dating is good, and common when you first start off, its dating, not a relationship ( yet) just chill, he will be in contact. Promise

like voice said, pirate was never free, which made him easier to dump. If i hadnt of dumped him, i wouldnt have been able to see him for about 2.5 / 3 weeks anyway, which is shit. Again, after dating, not a being a blot on the diary.

things MIGHt be looking up. Lovely house, if small, recently refurbed, 3 bed, low rent, good area with better schools AND TAKES PETS!! begged with them for a viewing today as lots of people are viewing over the next few days.

we shall see. however, letting agent has just been round and said that if i want to leave earlier that the date on my section 21, then i still have to give a months notice - so, they dont want me to go sooner than the date they have said! how is that fair?

WarmFuzzyFun · 07/11/2012 10:59

Oh Watch, fingers crossed for you and this property.

Letting agents are the devil Angry they just a horrible.

WarmFuzzyFun · 07/11/2012 11:00

lubeybooby · 07/11/2012 11:00

watch fingers crossed you get the house!

sponge relax, it's fine, honestly x

Engineer is being a bit flirty now (not filthy, just flirty). Exact details of date still TBC but looks like Sunday evening. Here's a question - we were both talking about wanting to see Skyfall (this was before a "date" was mentioned). But going to the cinema doesn't necessarily make the best first date does it? Or does it? Meet for a drink first, get a chance to talk, then cinema - if you don't really like each other you just watch the film then say goodbye and if you do like each other then there's darkness and pheremones..thoughts?

raskolnikov · 07/11/2012 11:17

Hi Yoga
I don't really think a film is an ideal first date (especially as its over 2 hrs long) cos you really want to get chatting and find out about each other (or make a run for it ) and I think I'd feel awkward just sitting there thinking 'mmm' or 'yeuch'. How about meeting up for a quick drink a few days beforehand and then arrange to see the film as a second date?

raskolnikov · 07/11/2012 11:19

Watch that house sounds lovely - if you like it, could you pay them a small deposit to hold it for a month and give the agents a month's notice straight away?

bantamrooster · 07/11/2012 11:19

Yoga I'd vote no on the cinema for the first date. Coffee (not COFFEE) is good and gives you the chance to call it quits early enough, or if they're interesting/attractive enough move on to alcohol which lets the barriers down a bit, possibly a meal which is a bit more intimate without being intimate IYSWIM.

Cinema just means you sit next to someone in a dark room, there's no way to make a connection, you can't even tell if you fancy them really. 2nd or 3rd date, sure.

And you never know whether he's done the old 'hole in the bottom of the popcorn tub' trick.

raskolnikov · 07/11/2012 11:21

'hole in the bottom of the popcorn tub' - Grin You seem to know a lot about these tactics bantam

Yogagirl17 · 07/11/2012 11:25

Bantam Ugh Shock!

No, you're all right I'm sure. No cinema, just coffee (with a small c) or drinks is better.

mercury7 · 07/11/2012 11:31

I quite like skype as a first date, then straight onto 'coffeeWink' :o

bantamrooster · 07/11/2012 11:34

yeah I knew a boy from school who delighted in doing it on dates with girls. They used to run screaming, he used to walk out proudly and laugh about it.

I believe he now works as an Armed response officer for the Met. Always was a moron.

Secretservice · 07/11/2012 11:36

Wise ODers, your thoughts please. Have a POF date tomorrow evening and I'm just a bit excited :)
Have been emailing, texting, calls over the past few days. He seems interesting and interested. But ... He has just called and suggested in a nice, flirty way that coffee could be on the menu. Now, I'm not averse to the idea having had only sips in the past year :) but do I?
I would have to stay the night, too far from home to get back after about 11.30, which may not be a problem, but should I go prepared? Or decline and get last train home? No problem with sitters, just have to go to work next morning.

It's probably too soon, isn't it? But the smell of coffee really whets the appetite :)

KirstyWirsty · 07/11/2012 11:37

Dare I ask about the hole in the bottom of the popcorn??
