Evening all,... Thank you to whoever came up with this lovely shiney new thread title!! Grin

As for Fedora, well I looked and it certainly wasn't her I saw in the picture!! He did go to Italy though, I saw pictures on his camera of the Bay of Naples, and also a few video clips of boat trips. And that's when I saw one single picture of a young blonde who he called 'Fedora'. 'I took a picture of her as she's very attractive and I wanted to remember what she looked like'. Jeez, I had a bit of a go, but I left that one because I couldn't be arsed to have an argument. This was about 4 days before he left.

Anyway, onto other things. Had one of these evenings where I can't stop my brain from whirling over details from the last few months. Times when I believed him because it meant an easier life. Believing him meant not being called 'paranoid' or insecure' or told to 'grow up'. Believing him meant some peaceful times on my own, not having to put up with him stomping about, resenting the fact that he was here. Believing him the time he claimed he got a 4 1/2 hour train back from London one evening in November when he smelt of aftershave.

Arrrggghhh! I know there's nothing I can do to stop this churning, but I am SO annoyed at myself. There were signs, but I just hoped things would get better. He always complained of being under pressure at work, so I had faith that he was trying his best.

Am so tempted to contact his boss and let him know what he's being doing under the 'guise' of work. Obviously, I wouldn't do it, but it is so tempting,......

Need to remember revenge is a life well lived blah blah!! Confused

Oooo Babylon PI I, for one, am sooo glad you are back on the case. I also didn't want to mention it in case the serious grown up person came and told us off again.

Lou - you are doing fab as usual. Seeing as you are so eloquent, thoughtful, self-aware and clearly v. brainy (works in a university, that proper clever) I think there is definitely potential for a No 1 Bestseller - "50 Jars of Chutney" or "Chunt: The Diary of a Narc aged 38 and 3/4" (or however old he is).

Have a good day. xxx

BabylonPI · 01/09/2012 08:40

I've laid low for long enough biggestregret

And what with bloody bank holidays getting in the way Hmm

mistlethrush · 01/09/2012 08:54

I've just made scones with Ds (7) which we're going to put in for the men only scone class at the little local show.... If I was doing them they would have been significantly different because half of the mixture wouldn't have been on the floor... and I think that they were marginally too wet but when you have the milk going in like that, its difficult to control it!

I hope that you have a good weekend Lou!

lotsofcheese · 01/09/2012 09:20

Hi Lou - that's a shame you weren't able to follow him.

Will he have had the letter from your solicitor yet?

Am surprised he's not been texting/emailing more....

tara0202 · 01/09/2012 09:34

Morning. Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend in store Lou.

Well all the crumpets in my house have been devoured but now I have lemon and raisen scotch pancakes for breakfast.

X

NotGeoffVader · 01/09/2012 09:47

sorry, slightly derailing the thread (only on p3) - a tip for garlic, which I picked up off pinterest; if you're baking in one big tin, cut an old dishcloth/teatowel into strips (so you have 2 or 3 long strips). Soak one in water. Fill your cake tin. Wrap the wet strip around the side of the tin, secure with a safety pin. Bake cake.
Apparently the water in the cloth keeps the sides of the tin slightly cooler, so the cake cooks more evenly.

Lou, it definitely sounds like a guilty conscience with chutney-pants. Wonder how he is going to explain solicitors letter and all ensuing fallout to OW? Up a certain creek with no paddle springs to mind.

I was also wondering about tank-top linguist. I know you said like a young Lenny Henry but tank tops make me think of Moss (Richard Ayoade) from the IT crowd!Grin.

Off to do some housework, back later.

LouP19 · 01/09/2012 09:51

Morning all, thanks for your comments. I love the food chat inbetween too, it really makes me smile,.....!!

I think the serious grown up person appears on a Tuesday evening if I remember correctly, so perhaps we can all make a promise to watch the Great British Bake Off and talk about that all evening on this thread to seriously piss them off! Wink.

Had a bit of a clean this morning and going to pick my doggy friend up this morning. Have stupid fantasies of meeting someone on a dog walk - you know a bit like Ben Fogle apparently met his beautiful wife because their labradors 'hit it off' one day on Highgate Park. Or something like that. I think. Confused

Hope you all have a good Saturday and let me know how your baking goes on! I suspect he's got the letter now, gone mysteriously quiet. I've been told the tooing and frowing between solicitors can be quite time consuming, so going to concentrate on me (and what I do about the baby) for the next week or so. He is 'off the page' as they would say on an Aussie teen drama. Not that I watch Aussie teen dramas,.....!

I HAVE to know where he is living. Grrrrrr! The bastard is hiding it ALL from her, I know he is!

Hi Lou delurking Smile
No wonder he sped off out of the car park, he must be in a constant state of frantic panic at the thought of his lies being discovered by the OW and you finding out where he is living.
It must be exhausting for him to remember which lies he has told and to whom and run around between places trying to cover his tracks.
I expect he's really going through it, his mind must be in over drive.
You might take comfort from this, it's karma of sorts. I'm in no doubt he is suffering, that constant looking over his shoulder is enough to drive anyone mad.

From the tone of your posts it seems that you on the other hand are getting better and stronger every day.
Have a great dog walk and a lovely, peaceful weekend.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 01/09/2012 10:26

I don't think he sped off because he knows about this thread. I think if he knew Lou is posting here, he'd turn up here too. He wouldn't be able to resist the urge to tell us all how fantastic he is really, and everything he's done is really for Lou's own good...

I'm not much of a baker, but 3yo dgs will be here this afternoon, it's a miserable day, and we might manage some fairy cakes.

MavisGrind · 01/09/2012 10:29

Ah, here you are! Liking th new thread title and the indispensible relationship/baking advice being dispensed.

Hope you're doing ok Lou, I'm very Envy re your linguistics guy - no hope of anything like that round here in the arse end of nowhere.

Can I tentatively suggest cream cheese and lime pickle (it's a pickle not a chutney!) as a topping to practically anything. Yum!

mistlethrush · 01/09/2012 10:33

GBB Tuesday sounds good.

DH's cousin met her husband because he was 'urban hunting' in one of the London Parks (I think that there might have been an aniseed trail involved before anyone gets het up). I certainly find that most dog walkers are happy to fall into conversation with you. Having a companion for walks is great too - it gives you a really good excuse to be out walking and you don't feel peculiar (speaking from experience of walking with and without dogs)

Nice one shiftinglard Smile

I bloody love Great British Bake Off. It is my fave programme of the week. I have a weakness for The Hollywood too. Ooof - its those eyes.....

woop woop for Babylon PI. Double bloody pom poms. And Lou, there are lots of lovely Chutney hating men out there just looking for a like minded bit of Crumpet like you. As Bon Jovi so wisely said - keep the faith xxx

tara0202 · 01/09/2012 12:35

I reckon.he probably speeds off every night from work incase someone tries to see where he goes. It's interesting just how much he doesn't want you to know where he is Hmm

I.hope Babylon pi can outwit him!

I agree the ow probably knows hardly anything of the reality of the situation.

Have a nice walk Lou x

lotsofcheese · 01/09/2012 13:20

GBB - food porn!!! I sit there, watching it, salivating!! Best programme on tv!!

AquaChoc · 01/09/2012 13:26

Hi, me again, delurking from Oz to post a Hello to Lou and just wanted to say again, I am amazed at how calm and dignified you sound, (although I am sure at times you dont feel it!) If it were me I would have ripped his balls off by now, you have incredible restraint in the face of such utter chuntishness!

Wonder if you can put some kind of tracking device on his car or does that only happen in the movies. You know, something magnetic to stick under the car, that uses GPS/satellite technology to follow him and give his location.

Should BabylonPI wait up the end of the road he turned onto, to start following him, rather than trying to tear off after him out of the carpark of the Uni? BabylonPI what do you mean not using the motorbike, I had pictures of you all in black leather, leaning over a mean black sleek motorbike racing in between cars like some kind of car motorbike chase in the movies! Grin and oh yes was wondering if the PI mission to find the secret cave of Chutney was still going on, or had gone into stealth mode just between LouP and Babylon due to a certain persons droning never-ending repetitive lectures Wink
Please do make sure you let us know if you find the chutney muncher hiding under his rock.

Okay, back to lurking Down Under, (although am rather excited today becuase over here in Australia it is the first day of spring and we have had such an awful winter here its nice to look forward to some sunshine!!)

Oh and I'm just about to go and snack on some yummy Moondarra cream cheese mixed with garlic and chives, smeared on some dry crackers. mmmmm.

toofattorun · 01/09/2012 14:49

Yes, Babylon PI, I am hoping you find out where chuntney wank stain is living. I wish I lived closer so we could have a group of us - one on each corner - to cover his every move. Lou, I promise you, you WILL find someone else. Keep your chin up!

Athendof · 01/09/2012 14:59

FGS Lou, keep your dignity, what is that of getting a colleague to follow him while you sit at the back of the car? If you really need to know, pay a PI to get you the information, better that than receiving a short visit by policemen after your ex reported you for stalking/asked for an order to keep you at a distance. (extremely stressfel and embarrassing when you work so near to each other).
You are dealing with a very intelligent narcissist here, you need to keep yourself away of muddy tactics in order to keep the higher ground.

Hmm
SweetFannyCraddock · 01/09/2012 15:23

I agree with athendof. Your dignity is all you have.

garlicnuts · 01/09/2012 15:24

Oh, look, I went and parked outside OW's house for hours sometimes. I didn't have any intentions, didn't even know why I was doing it but couldn't help myself. Checked with my friends and found it's actually normal to do this sort of thing - helps your head get itself around the truth somehow. Lou's being a thousand times more dignified than that, and more interesting!

Later found out that she'd been really nervous about "what I might do" and had called the police, who told her I wasn't breaking any laws. She spent ages peeping through the blinds to see if I was there. Can't say I'm too unhappy about that - I didn't set out to upset her, but

garlicnuts · 01/09/2012 15:30

Your dignity is all you have. Angry

What a load of old tripe! Lou's got fantastic friends, a social life, a lovely job, a garden, a dog to borrow, ridiculous hot-tub party invites, a pregnancy to consider, a shit-hot counsellor, an obsession with mature cheddar, shopping to do, a bakery-obsessed internet fan club, a lawyer, a personal detective, wonderfully supportive parents, cats and a home. Save your clichés for someone who needs them.

garlicnuts · 01/09/2012 15:31

... Plus, as someone wisely told me and I unwisely ignored: "You can't put dignity in the bank".
