I'll start:

"Of course I want to try to save our marriage. I'll end the affair immediately...but I can still be friends with her, right?"

"I'm not jealous that you've moved on and are dating other men...I'm just concerned for your safety because they are clearly all mad, stalker, paedophiles"

"I'm drunk and horny....sorry I was just sharing my feelings"

Oh Snorbs, lighten up. I don't hate men. I don't think all men are fuckwits. And i don't think men have a monopoly on stupidity. But I have experienced some pretty shitty behaviour ranging from merely laughable to truly offensive from some of the men in my life over the last year and I am having a rant.

OP posts:
Offred · 30/08/2012 21:25

Snorbs - no-one on this thread said men are fuckwits.

The title of the thread is "the crap men come out with" the issue with that is that it isn't just men that come out with crap and it isn't all men that come out with crap. Maybe you could stick to the actual grievance instead of calling women fuckwits which somewhat undermines the grievance!!

bubalou · 30/08/2012 21:26

snorbs don't get us wrong - women are massive pricks too.

You should start a thread on awful things women say.

Grin
Yogagirl17 · 30/08/2012 21:28

Actually Offred, I believe I did say men were fuckwits. Blush

Offred · 30/08/2012 21:29

Did you?! Confused

Offred · 30/08/2012 21:30

Oh you did!!!

Offred · 30/08/2012 21:32

Did you miss out the "these" in "men are fuckwits"?

Yogagirl17 · 30/08/2012 21:32

Yeah, back on page 1. I actually really like men (mostly Wink) and I know many genuinely lovely, decent guys. But it's my thread & I've had a shitty year so I'm feeling entitled to my rant.

OP posts:
Offred · 30/08/2012 21:34

It isn't "men" though is it? If you are a heterosexual female the knobs you've had relationships with are going to be men.

Yogagirl17 · 30/08/2012 21:41

Well, actually, what originally inspired this thread was not so much the thought that only men can behave badly in relationships but that some of the more baffling things men have said to me recently seem particularly 'male' in their stupidity - like the guy who thought that telling me he was drunk and horny counted as "sharing his feelings" Grin

NiniLegsInTheAir · 30/08/2012 21:41

Yoga, mine isn't an ex, unfortunately.

Nett that made me so so Sad. Fuckwits like that don't deserve children.

A lot of my NSDH's rants about me I can't write down - when he gets drunk he thinks he can speak Russian so garbles some gobbledegook that isn't real words. I'm not joking.

mercury7 · 30/08/2012 21:54

yoga, I agree that not only men can behave badly in relationships, but they tend to have a little more power and so are in a postion to get away with...power corrupts and all that.

Sure women can be just as bad when things shift and the boot's on the other foot...but then 'he had it coming' Wink

AuntieMaggie · 30/08/2012 21:59

OMG the bloody cheek of these men!

Offred · 30/08/2012 22:02

I don't know, men have said and done some horrible things to me but I'm far more frequently offended by things women say. I think that is man hating actually. There is a difference between maleness and gender stereotypes promoted by a sexist society about men.

Abitwobblynow · 30/08/2012 22:09

'the reason I wouldn't discuss it is that you didn't ask the right question/say it in the right way'

Schoolworries · 30/08/2012 22:10

"if you ask me for child support Im going to get you done for blackmailing me"

mercury7 · 30/08/2012 22:13

Offred ' I'm far more frequently offended by things women say'
perhaps because you expect some solidarity among women..some sense of sisterhood?

Yogagirl17 · 30/08/2012 22:18

mercury I LOVE that song!!

offred sorry you've confused me - what is man hating?

OP posts:
bubalou · 30/08/2012 22:24

I think the whole point of this post wasn't to do a gender attack on all males but just to highlight some stupid / nasty / ridiculous things they say.

Women of course are also guilty of this.

"No I won't take ds to the park just because you're are busy with (newborn) dd, how do you think he will feel that his Mum can't be arsed with him because she's got a new baby now!"

This was a week post c section and trying to establish breast feeding.

"well I deserve more than half of the take away because I earn the money to pay for it!"

"no I won't be supporting you to go to uni or retrain after bringing up kids, I am not your Dad, you should have done all that before you met me"

"you provoked me into attacking you, so you could call the police and get me kicked out of my own home, you planned it all"

All from the same prize of a man and there are oh, so many more.

akaemmafrost · 30/08/2012 22:34

"I am not paying child support because YOU don't deserve it Emma"

pantaloons · 30/08/2012 22:35

"We're going to have to finish. I feel guilty shagging other girls now we're together."

He was a fuckwit of the highest order, but I did meet dh 2 weeks after we finished and we've been married for 11 happy years. So he did me a massive favour overall!

Schoolworries · 30/08/2012 22:39

"its your fault I cheated because you wouldnt agree to dogging"
