My OH is sleeping soundly next to me. His iPhone is on the charging unit next to him. A Facebook message just popped up on the screen "my pants are soaking thinking of you tonight".

Numb.

OP - do NOT send a message to her. It is his responsibility to fix the issue by telling her where to go. If you get involved you cheapen yourself and you undermine him (assuming he was going to sort it out). If he is not prepared to sort it out himself then you have a bigger problem. Basically, it's a test for him.

diddl · 17/07/2012 14:41

What I don´t get though is why give her his mobile number at all?

ineedamiracle · 17/07/2012 14:41

I hear ye - so, PLAN A : do not message her, ask what he plans to do about blocking her, act all casual (without criticising her love of red lipstick), and DO NOT CRY.

What's plan b?

Diddl - all the messages are on Facebook, the messages pop up directly to his phone. No phone numbers involved (thankfully, I think)

Oh of course-sorry.

Well that´s something, isn´t it?

Now he just needs to block/defriend whatever .

BonnieBumble · 17/07/2012 14:48

You shouldn't message her. Your dp should delete her and block her without explanation.

It may well be that that someone has got hold of her phone and sent the message but there is no point in investigating, he doesn't owe her the benefit of doubt.

yellowraincoat · 17/07/2012 14:49

You don't need to act anything. You need to tell him to block her and tell her to fuck off and if he doesn't do it, then you know there's something more, whether it's an affair, or him getting kicks out of it.

ineedamiracle · 17/07/2012 15:21

Well, he'll be home from work soon - speak to you all later, and thanks again for your input and support x

That was easier than expected - I was bringing in the bins when he pulled up outside. He said "did you wake me up in the night about a message?" I said I had and that I've been very worried and he said that he hadn't got a clue what she was playing at and that he was ignoring her (he sounded quite stressed out about it). He's happily blocked her now without explanation...confidence in mankind restored (for now Smile).

Thankyou to all the lovely MN hand holders, you've been fabulous xxxx
