What have you bought for your husband/partner for valentines this year?

Nothing, the same as always.

BTW today it's Robbie William's birthday.

NomDePlume · 13/02/2006 10:59

Today is my Mum's birthday, too.

dyzzidi · 13/02/2006 10:59

A card he is working in taiwan so we went for a meal before he went.

jojo5459 · 13/02/2006 11:01

I pushed the boat out and ordered something from Hotel Chocolat for dh. Now it looks like the 'Valentine' stuff they promote they can't get delivered in time. How happy am I ? Not very

Gloworm · 13/02/2006 11:01

nothing, its just a big commercial money-making hype.

much more romatic to do something romantic out of the blue on a different day, or a day that means something special to you.

gorgeousnewGRAVITY · 13/02/2006 11:02

oh god........... i am valentines day less!!!

oh well! shame!!!

jojo5459 · 13/02/2006 11:03

i'm not very good at "romantic" though, what sort of things do you do?

OP posts:
gorgeousnewGRAVITY · 13/02/2006 11:40

when things were great with dh and i and before our business took off (so money was kind of tight) i remember cutting out heaps of red and pink hearts and putting them all abve the bed head. red and pink candles, choccies. ugh.... valentines day.....

trice · 13/02/2006 11:48

We don't switch the telly on. It makes for a lovely romantic evening.

trice · 13/02/2006 11:50

I wouldn't want to eat an edible thong.

Just my opinion.

rey · 13/02/2006 11:56

why not trice?

MrsBadger · 13/02/2006 12:26

just a card (good one though)

then on the 15th we go to Tesco, buy up the reduced bouqets and fill the house with flowers for a fiver!

Nbg · 13/02/2006 12:37

I wasn't going to bother due to skintness but dd and I have made dh a card and I've booked him a freestyle lesson for his snowboarding (jumps and rails etc).

jojo5459 · 13/02/2006 13:03

Trice, i don't imagine he will eat it either - but he'll like the invitation i'm sure!!
Interesting reading the nutritional info of your knickers!

OP posts:
jojo5459 · 13/02/2006 13:04

Good plan about the flowers on the 15th. Might do that too.

I came down with the flu today and I feel awful!!!

alexsmum · 13/02/2006 14:21

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 14:28

valentine's day sucks ass!

lou33 · 13/02/2006 14:30

alternative valentine cards

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 14:33

I'm getting a card with a donkey's arse on it cause that's what he looks like!

lou33 · 13/02/2006 14:34

lol rhuby

robin3 · 13/02/2006 14:34

Torn on this....think Valentines is really a bit rediculous

BUT

any occasion that makes a day more special from the norm is great IMO. Even Pancake Day is more interesting than the average Tuesday! Plus kids love this sort of thing...any excuse to make a card or make a cuppa on a tray!

MrsMills · 13/02/2006 14:36

DH has naffed off to the US for a week, so nowt, not that we would anyway, so I don't know why I'm complaining.
DS1 (5) has sent his gf in England one though.

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 14:39

Have you not got Lukey boy there?
