She wants a back massage.

She was saying she hadn't been sleeping well so I said well do you fancy a massage? She said yes please a back massage would be lovely, I did said I didn't think I would be very good at it but she said it was worth a try Smile

likeatonneofbricks · 21/04/2012 15:29

last sentence I meant of course if she initiated Grin

likeatonneofbricks · 21/04/2012 15:31

well shoulders ARE pretty much same as back, that's where all thetension is and is vrey relaxing, when trhey do shoulder massage professionally it goes down to mid back (but not lower back which I wouldn't do YET if I were you!).

Gay40 · 21/04/2012 15:33

I've heard quite a lot of tension is stored in the arse. You might have to bear this in mind.

Excited for you Polly, so glad she rang.
Sleep, DNG my arse, everyone knows what massages lead to.

Had a chat with DH this morning. I said to him that I definitely feel that I am a lesbian. I've said it before but I don't think he really believed me. I asked him a week ago how he would feel about me meeting up with a small group of lesbians at a nearby pub and he said he'd rather I didn't. I understood of course. So today I said to him that if he wants I wont go to these things for the time being but it's not making the issue go away. If anything it is making it 'forbidden' and play on my mind more.

It's so difficult to talk to him about this because as far as he is concerned if we don't talk about things they go away! Hmm

I think I do want to sell my Volvo. But I love my Volvo, don't want to hurt it, and have no idea how I would manage financially without it. I work, but it will be a few years before my salary is liveable.

teedeeuk · 21/04/2012 17:26

I never had a Volvo, but I did get married as a stupid teenager hoping teh gay would go away. It didn't :o

Gay40 · 21/04/2012 17:33

I think a lot of women don't actually realise they are settling for the volvo. Any niggling doubts about things not being quite right are often dismissed as nerves, youth, last minute wobbles, not being quite able to pinpoint what the matter is.
It's only when they meet a woman that blows their mind that things fall into place and they realise what has been missing. Not that they were desperately unhappy...just that something wasn't quite right.
And I think this is why we get this "turned gay" label from.

Crushinghard · 21/04/2012 17:38

When I got married I really didn't feel anything was missing. Looking back, I've always been interested in women but never met anyone who turned my head, let alone blew my mind. It took a mind blower to make me realise.

I was talking to an older gay man a few years ago, who had married and had children despite knowing he was gay, his wife and family also knew before the wedding but for some strange reason it all went ahead.
I asked him why, and he said his father had advised him that he couldn't have a proper family life without getting married, that it was unlikely that he'd meet a life partner because all gay men are promiscuous Hmm and children would be out of the question, naturally. And he did want to be a father, so got married.
He had battled on, in an OK marriage for a few decades, until one day...he met a man at work who blew his mind and That Was That. His wife admitted it had only been a matter of time.
They have been together for 15 years.

The man at work had been a happy heterosexual (although single with no children) to this point, apparently - just to add an extra twist to the story.

I think that if I would have had access to the internet in the early eighties I would have realised I was not alone. I certainly knew I was gay but couldn't reconcile that with a religious and homophobic upbringing, wanting children and a 'family life'. Was a whole different story by my late twenties though!

Crushinghard · 21/04/2012 18:04

Yeah, if I'd had access to the Internet in the early 90s I reckon my life would be pretty different.

Loveisthemessage · 21/04/2012 18:10

I know of a couple of guys who turned in their 30s...one was in a long r-ship with a woman which broke up then he met a man and is now married to him. Another man was in a r-ship with a guy and living with him when he met a woman and married her. But whether they identify as straight, gay or bi is anybody's guess and it doesn't really matter. It just shows it happens both ways and you can't box people in.

Polly - are you busy preening? Hope you have a WILD night out. Sending you a large dose of Dutch courage. Let's hope your wiq hasn't read the Guardian article Grin

Loveisthemessage · 21/04/2012 18:13

Polly - If we don't hear from you by midnight we will assume all went well

likeatonneofbricks · 21/04/2012 18:15

wild night out is not too likely (sorry but being realistic about this particular wiq), it will either be some general chat with wiq reiterating she's not gay , or they may really get on as personalities and have a laugh and maybe some mellowing will hapen to be continued later..Yes, polly you are strangely quiet! how are the nerves?

Gay40 · 21/04/2012 18:15

It does happen all ways. I know plenty of women who were gay or bisexual for long enough and then married men, not because they wanted the volvo lifestyle, they just met and fell in love and it happened to be a man.
This labelling nonsense has got to stop!

Hello, have had busy afternoon so first chance to check in - am about to commence preening Grin This could take a looooooooong time....

I'm in fear if the possibility she's read the Guardian article! it was bloody awful. If she sits with her legs firmly croosed all night I'll know she has Grin

One of my DCs said I should have carrots for tea tonight, so I can see in the dark later on and don't fall off any kerbs or anything. I said if I fall off any kerbs it'll have nothing to do with the dark........

pollyblue · 21/04/2012 18:26

likea nerves, what nerves?!
