That's nuts right? I've only been with this guy for 7/8 weeks ffs. He's just left mine to go to work and I got a bit sad (I hid it well) that he was leaving. He's just text saying "hated saying goodbye baby, can I come over again tonight? I'll cook". I know it's crazy but I really think I'm in love with this guy but I don't know why to do about it, I don't want to freak him out. Think I've just answered my own question haven't I? Just shut up! :-(

I'm with Dozer on this... he has to declare himself before you say those 3 little words with any degree of intensity

Of course, there's nothing stop you ending a phone conversation with a breezy 'love you honey, bye' or a femme fatale stylee 'I do so love you, dahling' in response to him doing something particularly thoughtful just to get the four letter word out in the open and into his head play. Grin

What a lovely thread :) DP and I said we loved each other after 2 weeks, moved in together the next day, and here we are 8 years and 2 kids later Grin. We are getting married in September.

Oeufman · 30/04/2012 09:37

Fell in love on the second date - he swears he knew he wanted to marry me when he heard me speak for the first time...... 16 years and 4 kids later - still mad about him!

Crocuslover · 30/04/2012 09:39

I knew, and told my boyfriend, that I loved him after 4 days. He wanted to tell me the day we met.

first1 · 30/04/2012 21:17

I didn't say it ffs kicking myself! But we ad one of those "moments" where we sat nose to nose really close smiling in silence for agesss and it was like we both knew does that make sense? Ah what a cop out I know. Tomorrow he's taking me for dinner with his parents (wana throw up with nerves emoticon) and we are having a bank holiday weekend away together this weekend so I WILL I WILL say it!!

Strikethrough fail. Blush

MushroomSoup · 30/04/2012 22:03

Perplexed I didn't know that was a strike through failure - I was dead impressed that you'd been on a shag-date !!!

izzyizin · 30/04/2012 23:02

NO, NO, NO. don't spoil the magic - don't say it until he does Wink

tallwivglasses · 30/04/2012 23:06

Izzy speaks wise words!

tallwivglasses · 30/04/2012 23:10

I mean, just imagine if you'd been nose-to-nose and you'd said it and then...he doesn't say it back

Or he makes some joke or pulls away or even gives you a passionate snog then changes the subject

What then?

first1 · 01/05/2012 06:38

I know I know I do really ultimately want him to say it first for sure. I'm just impatient! Like what if we get to say, July/August and he's still not said it thinkin he's waiting for me? Bloody hell this is so not an issue to stress over but I just want those three words out there already!

He said it!

Just back from a wonderful three night romantic getaway. And last night we were walking back to our hotel along the beach when he told me to stop and close my eyes. When I opened them, he'd written "First1, I love you with all my heart" in the sand! I was stunned, and he took me by the hand, we sat snuggled on the sand and he told me he can't imagine life without me now and that he's really really serious about us. I threw my arms around him and told him how I felt too. Then we both sat smiling/giggling/crying together for ages.

I'm on cloud 9 Grin and sooo loved up its crazy. Took us 15 weeks to say it, met both sets of parents but it was totally perfect and I'm so happy I didn't say it first!!

This is such a heartwarming tale for a Bank Holiday, ah, takes me back to those early days, it's just so exciting!

niknakpaddywhack · 07/05/2012 13:06

Aaaaaaaawwwwww that is so lovely- I'm ridiculously pleased for you!

maristella · 07/05/2012 13:09

:') What a lovely thread!

Gives me hope, and reminds me that I'm sane because I'm tiptoeing into loved up waters myself :)

AKissIsNotAContract · 07/05/2012 13:10

That's lovely xx

Longdistance · 07/05/2012 13:17

Awww! It's so good to see a positive thread. Think, me and dh fell in love after about 2wks. He suggested going away to Rekjuvik (sp) in Iceland. I laughed, and said 'the beer is expensive there'. He said 'we'll save that one for honeymoon then' Shock I then said ' who said I'm marrying you?' That was 6 yrs ago Smile
Enjoy, whilst you can. Sounds like a great guy giving up watching footy to be with you. My dh wouldn't do that for his beloved rugby widow
Can I buy I hat????

MilitaryWag · 07/05/2012 13:19

Woo hoo Grin
Enjoy
ps. Am now on a nice, nostalgic day dream back to those early days of lovliness and that glowing, warm feeling (but not in a ready brek way...if you get my drift)

Lovetats · 07/05/2012 13:23

Oh that's just lovely! I'm happy for you!

first1 · 07/05/2012 13:32

Longdistance - I'd say have a flip through some websites for a possible hat, yes just don't click "buy" yet Smile

Omg I'm sooo happy, like, never ever been so happy ever (had a fuckin twatty mentalist of an ex)
