Honestly; I don't want it (Mumsnet) to morph into a sort of 1930/40's WVS type thing (but sometimes I think, why not?).

Please. please, can we all remember we're women and drop the dreadful, 'Chicks without Dicks', downward spiral into the materialistic gutter?

I just don't think it helps when someone comes here looking for help/support to be confronted by a gang of deliberately, nasty sharks that have long abandoned any thought of climbing back up into the light.

I think I must be hanging around a different MN to you.

Confused
Yama · 13/03/2012 15:42

I haven't seen any threads with that kind of termonology.

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 13/03/2012 15:48

'Chicks without dicks'? Sorry what?! And what does having a dick have to do with materialism?

And we are not all women! (I am, I hasten to add!)

And I have had 7 years of support on here. I enjoy that it is plain-talking, funny, supportive and not afraid to point out when you are being an arse just like the real life friends that I value will do.

It can get a bit robust at times but just hide thread and move on...

And, since we are telling each other what to do and say today, it is 'terminology'.

Try some of the Obscene and aggressive 'Handles' YEO! Some use here. Then go into the posts to get the full 'experience' of any advice peppered with the most upsetting, vile language you could ever rustle up - insofar that this is just NOT what someone coming here for support would want to hear.

"I think I must be hanging around a different MN to you."

DO take time to have a look around dear...

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 13/03/2012 15:50

ps - amusing usernames is one of the best bits about MN!

tantrumsandballoons · 13/03/2012 15:51

Yes "dear" and when you find what op is talking about do please let me know because I am baffled WinkWink

izzyizin · 13/03/2012 15:51

'Chick without dicks'? That's a new one on me

Are you perchance the 'lonely little petunia growing in a onion patch' that has been dug for victory or do you have a particular precious axe to grind?

Here's the plan: you man person the tea urn and leave the rest of us dickless chicks to get on with winning the war supporting those who need solace and support.

EdithWeston · 13/03/2012 15:56

Ah - is your problem with swearing?

Swearing is permitted on MN. If you want a site where it is discouraged/deleted, then I think you'd be better off seeking a different site with a different ethos.

Petunia12 · 13/03/2012 15:58

No real debate. Just the attack gang closing ranks.

Thank you for the spellin lesone i never want too saye or telle others whot to do i was jus sayin.

Do please close the door after you, there's a dear...

mycatsaysach · 13/03/2012 15:59

i don't understand

izzyizin · 13/03/2012 16:01

Nehuns WTactualF??!! You've got me at it now, Petunia.

Never mind, I'm sure you'll find someone to play with on Nethuns.

Limelight · 13/03/2012 16:04

I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what you're on about. In what hideous ways does chick without a dick behave?

garlicbutter · 13/03/2012 16:05

What, you mean like "Tell him to fuck the fuck off to the far side of fuck and, when he gets there, to fuck off some more"?

Or, perhaps, "What kind of entitled twat interrupts a supportive conversation to instruct the women on how to speak to each other"?

I have probably advised: "Some poor buggers are so pathetically ineffective, they try to assert their sorry egos with pointless whining".

I'm sure I've said "Good grief, what a tosser!"

Never mind, Petunia. You'll get over it. Maybe.

Oh, fascinating cross-post.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/03/2012 16:06

I'm now utterly intrigued by the fact that in all my years on MN I have only ever heard nicknames being referred to as "handles" twice.

Yesterday on The Wright Stuff and just now^^.

Shall I draw the obvious conclusion?

Oh, and please don't call me dear, there's a good one. Smile

I'm more offended by being called Dear than I am by almost anything else!

EdithWeston · 13/03/2012 16:11

"handles" is good old CB radio terminology; possibly still in use by hairy truckers and maybe some others.

IAmBooyhoo · 13/03/2012 16:12

oh yes i know, the one with 4 ears an 9 bellybuttons. i think it's moved to edinburgh now. jelly will know.

Hmm
izzyizin · 13/03/2012 16:16

You can steal any man away?

Wow, you've come to the right place.

Your unenviable skill will be invaluable here where so many womens' problems will solved instantly if only someone, anyone, would steal their violent, controlling, abusers men away - and not return them.

Malificence · 13/03/2012 16:17

Someone's off their meds today.

DoomCatsofCognitiveDissonance · 13/03/2012 16:17

Do you need a strong coffee, petunia?

This thread has already been done today in AIBU. It was funnier there too.

MiladyGardenia · 13/03/2012 16:17

You sound a little overheated, OP. I suggest a nice lie down in a darkened room with a damp flannel applied to your forehead.
