I've seen links on here before to some excellent info in NPD - what it, how to recognise it, how it works, that sort of thing. Was in relation to spousal relationships IIRC but utterly relevant to her situation I feel. I told her about it and she asked me to look it up but I'm not having any luck finding what I'm after.

There was great stuff about co-dependancy too, can't find that either. Must be doing summut wrong Hmm

Can anyone help?

Have a look at the start of this thread.....

Loads of info and links there...good luck enlightening you friend. x

Thanks Mizzy - She's already enlighten in as much as she believes it. She broke contact some time ago but finds it comforting to have a 'label' for what went on.

Hi Hetty, I can understand your friends' need for a 'label' - for me it made it easier to understand my own role within the dysfunction, thereby making it easier for me to help myself and deal with everything.

I'm NC too...but as you can tell, I still feel the need to ruminate over the whys and wherefores of it all, from time to time. Hope the links are useful.

Yeah, my father was (is) NPD too, I haven't seen him in years. It's good to be able to put The Horror to some use.

Links are great, not the ones I was thinking of - were more DV related - but good.

Ok....found another thread that may help....more DV related.

Oh yes, fantastic! Bless you. Thanks for your help.

I'm going to head off now - I tend to (utterly selfishly) avoid this section, is too painful. I do what I can IRL but online I just can't hack...

Grin Good luck Hetty...have a lovely weekend away from the relationships section! x
