Has anyone ever had a friends with benefits type relationship

Regular. Namechanger. All that stuff that means fuck all anyway

Has anyone ever had a friends with benefits situation that has developed into something more?

I'm in one, sort of, but it's starting to cross the line into more (which I'm happy with) but I don't want to push to hard either so I'm trying to hold back. But the bloke concerned is happy to have more, and looking for more than just sex.

So I was just wondering hoping that someone else had had a relationship that had started out like this and then became a longstanding DP thing?

Im in a fwb situation, or was?? been seeing each other-very similar situation-hanging out, him staying over whilst kids not here etc- for about 6 months. He was a friend that Id known for 3/4yrs previously, were hanging out one evening, decided to get few bottles of wine and bingo that was how it startedWink. It came to a head after xmas, I felt quite lonely thoughout december and hadnt had the chance to see him much so told him I couldnt continue becuase I didnt want to get hurt, I thought hed be like"ok thats fine" but instead he was in tears and deeply upset! how badly had I misjudged that! after a 7hr conversation we are both much more clear about "us" and weve already progressed loads since then with him phoning alot more rather than just txting, and him coming over to stay when the children are here etc.

I have no idea(as I dont think he does either)where thisll go, but I refuse to push him for more as we are only late twenties and whereas he still lives at home(complicated story) I am independant with 3 young children.

Anyway, rambling but yes, I think it can work and can turn into LTR, but enjoy it for the now and see what happens for as long as you are happy toSmile

Hi. Smile Sounds like more than FWB to me too. Hope you can relax and enjoy it. Sounds like him bringing up the 'exclusive' chat was a good indication of his feelings.

I've had a few fwbs. Two turned into ltrs each lasting about 3 years. Then we moved on. There is one who I knew as a friend for years before anything happened, she was waiting for me to make a move, and when I didn't, she did. She's still my best mate now, even though she's with another chap.

As for your situation, it looks like it's moved beyond the fwb phase. Good for you! Grin Wink

i'd love a FWB especially one who looks like Justin Timberlake, I'd love abit of FWB with JT

Well, actually, DH kind of started of as a FWB.

We were boffing at weekends for about six months and then one day in bed he went "I love you, you know?" and I went "I love you too, you know?" Dead natural, like.

Never thought of it before, but that's definitely how it started off...

Very interested in this thread as am recently divorced after 20years & new to all this... although have found myself in a FWB situation.
Is it only people with children who have to work round access so need someone to 'use' as & when.
FWB works well (& the sex is bloody great) but I'm finding it hard getting my head round it really, & agree with original poster... how do you know its moved onto being a relationship? apart from bringing up THE discussion, which to be honest would be quite hard when you're trying to play it cool & take it slowly while desperately hoping for LTR
