Gay sex

I was thinking about the type of sex which many would find humiliating, eg face slapping. Of course, I know that many people get off on humiliating others.

I've never heard of this in gay sex, particularly lesbian sex. Is humiliation as big a thing in lesbian sex as it seems to be becoming in heterosexual sex? What about homosexual sex? Is coming on the face common there?

I just wondered whether this was more of a male-female phenomenon or whether it applies equally in gay sex - having said that I don't really want to google it!

Yes, there are people who practice BDSM who are lesbian/homosexual. It's one of the downfalls of some of the arguments of people who see it as male/female issue - there are quite a lot of gay men and women who do this kind of stuff, and a lot more.

ImperialBlether · 11/12/2011 14:48

Thanks, purple - my only experiences are in the heterosexual world. I know the mistress and slave thing goes on elsewhere - what I wondered was whether it goes on in relationships where the couples are not committed to a BDSM lifestyle, as in the other thread where the poster was dating someone who was interested in this.

Face slapping and coming on someone's face hasn't got much to do with BDSM. It's got more to do with porn than anything else. The common denominator therefore is not someone's sexuality, but whether he or she uses a lot of porn.

FabbyChic · 11/12/2011 16:07

Whats wrong with coming on someones face, Its actually sexy to poke your tongue out and lick it off your lips

QueenCess · 11/12/2011 18:21

Uurgh! Fabby- definitely NOT sexy......just gross and demeaning.

purplepossum · 11/12/2011 18:31

Sternface The original post asked about face slapping and humiliation - both of which form part of BDSM activities. There wasn't any mention of coming on people's faces and I haven't read the face slapping thread so I don't know what that situation was about. I am sure that there are people who aren't into BDSM who have watched porn and become curious/interested in doing what they see, but there are people who are into face slapping and humiliation who don't watch porn and whose interest/desire for it really didn't originate there. Bukkake is certainly related to porn (and yes this also exists in lesbian/gay porn), but I've never seen face slapping in porn. Not that I watch/like it that much.

QueenCess Surely demeaning is in the eye of the beholder. If someone does not find an act demeaning, then for them it's not. Do you find regular intercourse demeaning? Some people think that's gross and demeaning - does that make it truth?

sternface · 11/12/2011 19:12

2There wasn't any mention of coming on people's faces"

Yes there was. Read the OP again.

purplepossum · 11/12/2011 19:28

You're right. Doh. I missed that Xmas Blush

I read the first bit and was responding that. Anyway, I agree that the coming on faces is probably often inspired by porn, but don't think one can generalise that it is always that or that it's the same as the desire for humiliation/slapping. Might be for some, not for others.

ImperialBlether · 11/12/2011 19:28

PurplePossum, I did mention coming on people's faces. (Not a sentence I ever thought I'd utter!)

An act can be demeaning if the recipient has been conditioned into thinking it is the norm (despite underlying discomfort) from the barrage of porn images that saturate our society.

It is the equivalent of somebody hawking up a greenie and spitting it into their partners face IMHO. If you enjoy it.....not my bag.

I don't see how you can compare it to 'intercourse' frankly purple.

susiedaisy · 11/12/2011 19:50

God this thread put me right off my rice pudding!!

purplepossum · 11/12/2011 19:53

ImperialBlether Yes, I saw. I somehow missed it the first time!

QueenCess I'm not direct comparing the acts. I was asking whether something is demeaning simply because some people think it is? Or whether it's up to the people involved to decide what they find sexy and what they find demeaning.

An act can be demeaning if the recipient has been conditioned into thinking it is the norm (despite underlying discomfort) from the barrage of porn images that saturate our society.
Sure, but sometimes people actually do find certain acts sexy and things that turn them on and intimate without having being conditioned. Porn does have influence, and not a good one, but not every women who likes things that also happen to appear in porn has been conditioned, she is not always being demeaned and the men/women she is doing it with may not be a porn user.
