Have been languishing on PoF (I know!) and had a message from a man whose profile is good, messages suggest he's a larf.

I have not gorn on an ID for years. I know all the safe dating stuff, no probs there. The man (as suggested in his photos) is no Tom Hardy.

This does not matter, does it? I know it's impossible to judge chemistry via photos. Is my reticence due to nerves, or an almost certain knowledge that I won't get fanny gallops from this man?

That's why we need a mumsnet organised event - any female singletons on this site who want to participate can sit in comfy seats while an assortment of males parade in front of them.

Think catwalk - they'll do a man walk and then they say a few words about themselves, then they change into budgie smugglers, and interested parties will have the opportunity to spend a few minutes in close proximity with their chosen one/two/or all candidates to ascertain whether there is any 'chemistry' between them.

The chosen venue will have a number of good ales and lagers on draught, pretty coloured cocktails with umbrellas and sparklers, and a goodly selection of spirits available for the more --hardened boozer- discerning connoissuer.
