wouldn't and didn't bother me in the slightest. The only people who peddle the notion the you need to spend the equivalent of your monthly salary on an engagement ring is the jewellery industry.

Whe we got engaged, I wasn't even fussed about a ring. Whether I wear a ring doesn't make me any more or less engaged. I feel the same about a wedding ring. I am married, I don't need to wear a ring to prove it, either to myself or anyone else.

That's said, I do have a wedding ring but I don't wear it all the time, it's a lovely piece of jewellery and whilst yes, I see how it is a symbol of our marriage, it's not the symbol of our marriage or relationship.
