Does anyone want to join me for mutual support?

Hi everyone, how's it going? Been a good week so far, the a-ds do seem to be helping and he is not feeling sick since he switched to taking them at night. We have not had a lot of time together as he has been working really long hours, and I am working every day this week too, while the dc are away at my parents'. In some ways all this work is good as it keeps him from temptation, but I am anxious about this weekend when I will be away overnight...just have to let it go and enjoy myself at the hen night I am going to.At least the dc and I won't be around to see if he drinks!

He finally managed to go for the blood test this morning (needs 12 hours fasting and he was either working too late or starting too early to fit it in!) so we will know in a week whether there is liver damage. I am sure I am not the first partner to hope there IS some so he gets stern words from the doctor! If nothing shows then I am sure this will reassure him in weak moments that his drinking really wasn't all that bad...

Hi Halfcaff

Glad to hear you're having a good week. I know what you mean about being worried about going away this weekend - I would definitely be the same. Fingers crossed that everything's OK. You know there's nothing you can really do but hopefully your DH will rise to the challenge. My DH had some blood tests the other week but didn't have to do any fasting so I am now wondering whether they checked his liver. It would be odd not to under the circumstances - maybe the doc will suggest this next time he sees him. All OK at my end for the moment too.

Anyone else caught out by the Bank Holiday weekend? My DH, after about 25 days sober, started drinking on Good Friday. Back in hell once more.
