I think i may have done something really stupid.....

I have been talking to a guy online for a couple of weeks, we have spoke on the phone, he is really lovely, kind, caring, loving.

We are going to meet up this weekend and go for a drink, but last night i was talking to him and he said he really wanted to see me, so between us we arranged for him to come to mine last night, i told a friend that he was coming over, when he arrived it was fantastic, we chatted he told me all about himself, his life, what he has been doing, etc and i talked about myself, he brought a bottle of wine, (we only had one glass each)everything was fine all night, he went home later on that night and i went to bed feeling really happy.

But then this morning, my friend who i told last night that he was coming round was cross with me for letting him into my home, and as she pointed out...my DS was upstairs alseep. Now all i can think of is how stupid was i for even thinking of it, but he is such a lovely guy, did i do the wrong thing here? surely i can trust my own judgement?

Someone suggested ............ dont invite the guy back esp when your DS is there ... but remember what everyone else has suggested ........ remember you can say NO, dont invite him back at all ...... you never know what could happen if you were alone in your home .......... not worth thinking about. Sorry for nagging.

Maybe you should introduce him to your BF, maybe you guys should have a code and tell each other before when PH is going on dates (not sure if PHBF is single).

I'm usually a pretty trusting person too - but where my DD is concerned I am uber careful and don't play the odds. There is too much at stake.

Also you only get one chance to date, you should still be at the stage where he is taking you out / making some effort. Otherwise it doesn't look like it will be much of a relationship. I think you need to see yourself (and DS) as more valuable / develop some self-esteem.

Did you see Jeremy Kyle this morning, where the boyfriend of 18 months, who took her on great hols, did tons for her, murdered her daughter !! Seriously, this could be anyone, the girl in question thought he was the salt of the earth.

ImFab · 03/02/2011 16:39

It was terrible, wasn't it AnotherMum? Did it say why he killed her? I only caught bits of it.

AnotherMumOnHere · 03/02/2011 23:04

Sorry Imfab but I only caught snippets of it too but I had been reading this thread and it immmediately came to mind.

Sometimes people are too trusting of people .. like the lady this morning. She thought the world of the guy. As far as I know they had known each other for 18 months and thought he was the bees knees. Not the case now ........... the mother and her other daughter were in quite a state, werent they?

Please Please be very careful Pinkhair.
