Have only joined MNET few days ago - am hooked and wide awake due to DP's horrific snoring and 2 of my 4 DC taking it in turns to wake up - chicken pox, chest infections, colds etc are rife in my house...anyone out there to chat to ... about ANYTHING...AT... ALL?

DozyDoll · 08/01/2011 03:16

Hi - your the first ever message on my first ever thread - sorry, no prize! Are you a regular insomniac or just an occasional?

Hiya from sunny australia am hiding with the laptop by the air con

giyadas · 08/01/2011 03:20

hi, I'm still here. welcome to MN. Smile

giyadas · 08/01/2011 03:29

typical. I spend weeks trying to kill a particular thread, then manage to kill this one in one fell swoop. Sad

DozyDoll · 08/01/2011 03:35

Air con, eh - guffaw! There was no need to share that with the group, cjdamoo! So, not only are you in non-centrally heated warmth, neither are you having to survive the next 24 hours on approximately 2.5 hours sleep, because it's daytime where you are, so you shouldn't be sleeping anyway! I'm happy for you honestly Smile Wink No, you can't be me!

Can't sleep as DS1 woke me up at 1am to say he has received his first unconditional uni offer!!!! So excited for him.

giyadas · 08/01/2011 03:38

Congratulations for your son Sherbert, that's fantastic!

DozyDoll · 08/01/2011 03:38

No, the threads alive and kicking...I just keep losing my page I'm clumsy and slow (tiny keyboard - netbook not laptop you see). Please to virtually meet you giyadas - sorry for spelling. Don't forget there's a real possibility of someone nodding off at the keyboard at this unearthly hour unless you're in Australia of course!

Am ignoring the aussie [sniff] nothing to do with jealousy, mind. Nope, not jealous at all!

Cricketer51 · 08/01/2011 03:43

Don't mention the cricket...?

Sherbert37 · 08/01/2011 03:45

Thanks Giyadas. So glad to be able to TELL someone. We are in Scotland and it is so good having the grades before applying. Takes away some of the stress. This is his 2nd choice uni so he'll hope for an offer from the first. But now have to face the reality that he will actually be going.

LairOfTheDetermined · 08/01/2011 03:45

cricket? what the good result? Grin

SHould really really be alseep. But have just finished a project and my brian was wired. Currently waiting to see if microsoft time and real time are going to meet in the middle so that i can shut the computer down. Hmm

kayah · 08/01/2011 03:46

I am a selfinflicted insomniac
but when I sleep at least I get uninerrupted sleep

I have to change the pattern, as I feel my brain may get used to not sleeping at night

DozyDoll · 08/01/2011 03:46

Three cheers for Sherbert's son. Hip Hip...

OP posts:
giyadas · 08/01/2011 03:48

Sherbert37 · 08/01/2011 03:50

Aww thanks. Better try and get some sleep now. Night all.

brightandcheery · 08/01/2011 03:50

Can I join in? Smile

DozyDoll · 08/01/2011 03:52

Hooray!

I think we should simultaneously log off on the count of three. I'll have to give myself a computer curfew in the manner of my 14 year old DD's!

DozyDoll · 08/01/2011 03:54

Dipping in & out for 6 months or so I guess - Madness is a great use of vocab on your part! Never a truer word spoken. What did we do before the www arrived - can anyone remember??
