how often do you and dh/p go out or do something together

very very rare for me and dh. we go out together with friends, and we go out without each other with friends. and we have hobbies we do separately.

we both work from home 3 days a week and so ocassionally walk the dog together, we normally have a mid-morning chat when one of us makes a cup of tea, and we, erm, play table football a couple of times a day. but we NEVER go out together. is that very bad? what does everyone else do

Rarely - due to different interests and lack of childcare - perhaps once a fortnight we go out for a walk/lunch whilst DS is at school (DH works from home - can organise his own hours to some extent).

Now that the dds are old enough to be left, we go out at least once a fortnight, just the two of us. This will either be for a walk, a coffee and the library, lunch in town, the cinema or an early drink at the local or an early curry. We've only been doing this for the last eight months or so and it's lovely. Wish we'd done it more when they were younger but we rarely had baby-sitters.

DS is 8, I can certainly count on the fingers of only two hands the number of times we been "out" i.e. of an evening together.

Not been out anywhere together for 3 months. I miss the days of dating......You're very lucky, BelligerentGhoul!

Loads, usually 2 or 3 times a week! He's been working from home quite a bit and we've taken the opportunity to have lunch or walk the dog together.

Working from home does have a fair few downsides too!

Very rarely. Dinner out alone twice in the last 10 years, probably longer, though once a year we have at least one night away in a hotel while the in-laws have the kids.

not very often at all. We usually take DS with us whenever we go out for meals; the two exceptions this year were our anniversary and a works' function, when Grandma babysat for us. We could do more now but we're both pretty much homebodies.

We are going out in 2 weeks time, will be the first night out together for 9 months. Usually DH goes out and I stay at home

We go out a bit, but very rarely on our own. It's more fun to go out with friends too!

Not very often. Used to be virtually never (and given we only had five months before I conceived DD1, that does mean never).

It's surprisingly enjoyable when we do manage it. He appears to be rather nice .

in the last 2 years we have been out for dinner once; been out for coffee or lunch about 3 times; walked the dog together maybe about 6. it's feckin lazy of us really. we'll wake up in 10 years time when the kids have left school and realised we don;t really know each other.

but we''ll be very good at table football.

MI - that's exactly how I feel. it's a kind of "oh yes. I remember you. There's a person underneath that co-parent/father/dad/moutain-biker."

Never gone out together in the evening for the last 11 years. We were supposed to go out for my birthday (lunchtime) while our eldest daughter was at a party. We had thought we would put the other 3 in one of those supervised softplay arround where we live but when we got there they told us that ds2 (9) was to old for the scheme and they only accepted children up to 8 yo. Our fault for not checking before.

It's not very often dh and I go on a night out together, but we do exercise a lot together. We do BMF sesions together, we are in the same running club, and time allowing we run together when we can. We walk the dog together too.

All the time, we only do things together.
We prefer each other's company to that of anyone else, it's as simple as that really.

We try to do so as much as we can.

The other day we had breakfast together in a local cafe it was nice just to be together not one eye on the kids..

In September we went out with another couple to celebrate our Anniversary at a Thai Restaurant...

I think its harder when you have children but we try to make an effort ...even if its just for a few hours we sometimes have lunch at a cute italian place near us...

its harder to go out for the whole night have a proper night out drinks and dancing but about twice a year we try to...

I also look out for cheap deals on hotels in our area ( Devere is good) and just chill out together drinking cheap bubbly and ordering a take-away eating breakfast someone else makes for once!!

Hardly ever, and we need to sort it out. Every time we do, we always have a laugh - and yes, sometimes you need reminding of the person under the co-parent. When we go out, it's always with friends - we never do anything when it's just us anymore.

ooo just remembered one of the nicest days I have had in the last 10-odd years since I had kids. Dh and I booked a day off work. we had a nanny back then - she arrived as normal at 8. we left, as normal.

then we went for breakfast. we then walked along the river. we had lunch in quite a posh riverside restaurant and then went to the cinema. it was such a briliant day. greatly enhanced by the deception.

Loads because DD hasn't been born yet, at least every saturday for a coffee as a bear minimum. But once our first child comes.... obviously things will be a bit different

Very, very rare. We might go to a concert (if I book it) but it is as rare as rocking horse
