The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Homebrew In The Shed!

1000 replies

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 28/10/2010 17:45

Hello, I'm Mouse. Smile

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus. You can get on at any point in the journey, there is plenty of room, it's free to ride and there is always someone who will be along to hold your hand over the speedbumps!

So, no matter where you are in your quest to quit the booze, join us for support, advice and a fair few laughs along the way Grin

There is no judging, no cliques, just real poster with real problems being real and honest!

Come and meet the others.....

Here is the previous thread where you can read all of the threads so far, including JWN's original thread and the reason we are all here.

Dipso · 30/10/2010 14:04

Cat sick, sandwich fillings? I thought this was a thread for women battling alcoholism and in some cases battling for their lives?
I think I need to find a forum where there are some men - MIFLAW is fantastic but there's only one of him....

Silver66 · 30/10/2010 14:12

Just done the weekly shop. Unpacked and now about to do the ironing!
Dh gone to sport, yup, he's a two beers a week squash maniac, how did he end up with me!!! Also, amazes me how he is so understanding and supportive. Counting my blessings every day.
mouse glad your little one is feeling better, it wrenches your insides out to see them ill.
See you all later (about5.30 I should think!:))

thursoback · 30/10/2010 17:02

Sorry, got the empty feeling in my tummy.
Want to shout up the stairs to x box player "just going to get the paper".
What has stopped me is re-reading ny first few (sad) posts, and remembering what crap I felt.
Say hellooo someone :)

Whitenapteen · 30/10/2010 17:12

thurso
Hello, just put the shopping away here - I hate it and would happily pay someone to do it. Only trouble is I can be a bit controlling so would probably follow them round making sure the packets were put like I would do it!
What plans for this evening - are you a Strictly or X Factor fan?

thursoback · 30/10/2010 17:12

Please.

thursoback · 30/10/2010 17:16

whitenapteen
Crossed posts, phew, started to feel a bit anxious there. I have started to rely on this thread (another addiction?)
Thanks for replying. Plans for tonight- Dh said he is going to cook dinner, Mussels for Dh and Dc to start (yuck) mackerel pate for me, then crab salad. Usually on a Saturday, we plan a lovely meal, then I start on the wine and don't want it. I really want tonight to be different.

dementedma · 30/10/2010 17:17

Evening all - can i come on the trip to Transylvania?
don't know if I'll be drinking or not, seem to have lost momentum, although had a couple of glasses last night then put the rest in the fridge and went to bed. meh!
A bit melancholic at the mo, for no real reson....
do the clocks go back tonight or tomorrow night?

Whitenapteen · 30/10/2010 17:27

thurso Sounds lovely. Can you offer to help DH? Just remember, if you're like me, if you don't have that first glass all will be well. Hold on to the thought that after dinner you will have a contented evening, restful night and a clear head in the morning.

dementedma just to confirm - clocks back tonight. Why not have a 'pamper me' evening? Relaxing bath and PJs on then settle down with the tv, a book, DVD, sketchpad (have I remembered that correctly?).

Whitenapteen · 30/10/2010 17:33

thurso suggest you explore some alternative drinks for when the wine devil strikes. I like Elderflower in a wine glass.

thursoback · 30/10/2010 17:36

whitenapteen yes, I know all will be well if I don't have that first glass, I know what I'm like.
Feels like the moment has passed, for the time being. Poured out a glass of ginger beer!
Also having found this thread, I know that if I did go to the shops, I would come on her and say so. I have turned into "the truthteller!!(better name than Thurso, which I picked off the map in the study!!)
Thanks {grin}

thursoback · 30/10/2010 17:37

Obviously haven't quite got to grips with the smileys yet Mouse!

Whitenapteen · 30/10/2010 17:51

Off out for a curry with DH and DCs. Catch up later/tomorrow.

Don't forget clocks go back so, if you stay off the sauce tonight, you get a whole extra clear-headed hour tomorrow.

BBwannaB · 30/10/2010 18:13

Hi Thurso I hope you have got over your wine o'clock. I am settling down to a glass of root beer, I do like my soft drinks to have a medicinal flavour Grin
Your dinner sounds delicious, I have just had a bowl of soup, but it was the river cottage recipe from the TV this week.
What time does Strictly start?

thursoback · 30/10/2010 18:16

Blush I have never seen Strictly, or the X factor (promise I am not typing this from another planet!)

loopylouwitchywoo6 · 30/10/2010 19:03

Evening lovely ladies :) how did your party go silver? Thurso well done you're doing SO well. I'm just watching gladiators and waiting for the Xfactor. X

How y'all doing? Watched Strictly and have to say Matt's new look is HOT. Better than the cute farm boy image Smile
Had one glass but feeling very take it or leave it oddly enough,so will head off to bed as soon as I can get DC3 settled. He's up late tonight because of surprise visit from my niece which has got him all excited, sitting up having a carry on with the "big ones".

BBwannaB · 30/10/2010 21:51

I thought Matt looked good too - guilty pleasures Wink
I won't be around for a couple of days, will be away from the laptop, but hope to take your vibes with me to help me stay strong.

Sleep well babes and littl'uns.
X

Thoroughlyashamed · 30/10/2010 22:16

Can I come with you all, Is anyone here?

As the name change will tell you, I'm thoroughly ashamed of myself & everybody hates me for it.

Sorry for the downer but on a more positive note I am, god knows how on night 3 but I am so tired I am tempted to have a few just to get to sleep.
