The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Homebrew In The Shed!

1000 replies

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 28/10/2010 17:45

Hello, I'm Mouse. Smile

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus. You can get on at any point in the journey, there is plenty of room, it's free to ride and there is always someone who will be along to hold your hand over the speedbumps!

So, no matter where you are in your quest to quit the booze, join us for support, advice and a fair few laughs along the way Grin

There is no judging, no cliques, just real poster with real problems being real and honest!

Come and meet the others.....

Here is the previous thread where you can read all of the threads so far, including JWN's original thread and the reason we are all here.

Lovely reading the thread this evening - just got in after going to the cinema with DS and his friends - I was only invited you understand because I was the taxi and the bank!...feels so good though to be out in the evening with the DC - unheard of before because it was after wine o'clock.

how's it going christi* - are you doing OK?
x

Heading off to bed with a smug smile on my face.
xx

Dipso · 30/10/2010 08:53

Morning all, looks like I'm the first poster of the day! How are you feeling Loopy, no beating yourself up, just try and make the most of your day and tell yourself you can beat it if you want to but maybe the time's not quite right. I think you'll know when you're really ready.

Kids will be off my hands at lunch-time and I'll be home alone, looking forward to Strictly later and some catching up on stuff I've recorded. Anyone watching the Big Silence? I'm thinking of going on a retreat myself, might book it today.

Will doubtless be back later for wine-o-clock distraction, it'll be a test being at home alone, that's always the time of greatest temptation. But nothing beats waking up at 7am on a Saturday morning and feeling fresh as a daisy :)

Morning All

Hope the various Halloween activities go well. Enjoying the lovely sunshine here.

Loopy how are you this morning?

thursoback · 30/10/2010 11:44

(whispers) Day 3.
I actually feel like I've got a hangover this morning, really tired, and headachey, seems a bit unfair!
Last night coming on here at about 5 really helped, and once 7ish comes I'm ok.
I hope I won't be drinking tonight, don't think so, but, tippy tiny steps!
Sending love to all who didn't slip last night, and to all for whom today is day 1, and to all who are reading this thread, and thinking about cutting down, or stopping.:)

loopylouwitchywoo6 · 30/10/2010 11:56

Morning ladies, I'm sooooo tired, went to bed about 11 DH promptly started snoring like a farmyard animal so I ended up in dd's bed (kids stayed out last night) barely sleeping till 5 when I gave up and got back into my own bed, DH woke up thence both couldn't sleep Hmm

Well done for last night thurso.

Whitenapteen · 30/10/2010 12:02

Thurso you may have read before on here that what you may be experiencing is the full extent of a hangover - your body is processing the alcohol and you have not added to it for some days to mask the effects. Hang in there - it's worth it.

Silver do we have a journey today or are we just parked up enjoying the view and eating our sandwiches? [Sorry - I've always loved egg sandwiches and it has to be salad cream not mayo!]

loopylouwitchywoo6 · 30/10/2010 12:07

Mmm egg and salad cream yummy I really want that now

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 30/10/2010 12:22

loopy go easy on yourself today ok? No big guilt trips etc. I know that the physical effects of last night are hard to hide from but in your head, draw a line under it and start a fresh today.

What is your plan for tonight? You said you may not be able to affrod to drink.....

Silver - NO PINKSOCKING today!!! Grin

Red sends her love, she text me earlier to say she was ok. Smile

Hope all of the new babes are still out there and going to join us on the bus at some point today, where are we off Silver?

Been for my annual flu jab and now I'm sweating, great!!

Nemo is much better today thank God so we should hopefully avoid hospital.

Tonight I will be EvilMouse as I plan to block the driveway off to deter trick or treaters.

They always wake Nemo or DD so this year, I'm baracading us in!!! Grin

Whitenapteen · 30/10/2010 13:18

Silver I swear by baby wipes (Boots own unscented)- seem to clean most things - goodness knows what is in them and what it does to a baby's skin. Long past the baby days but still have them in the house. DH uses one every morning to clean glasses then buffs with a tissue.

Silver66 · 30/10/2010 13:22

of coursr - duur - I use tham for eveything else - off to try it now - will report back xx

Silver66 · 30/10/2010 13:25
