HammerMouseOfHorrors · 28/10/2010 17:45

Hello, I'm Mouse. Smile

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus. You can get on at any point in the journey, there is plenty of room, it's free to ride and there is always someone who will be along to hold your hand over the speedbumps!

So, no matter where you are in your quest to quit the booze, join us for support, advice and a fair few laughs along the way Grin

There is no judging, no cliques, just real poster with real problems being real and honest!

Come and meet the others.....

Here is the previous thread where you can read all of the threads so far, including JWN's original thread and the reason we are all here.

Thanks thurso.

Don't ever think you are banging on. The thing with this thread is that you can say as much or as little as you want. (God, listen to me! You'd think I had immediately returned to the Red of old who actually had some sense!)

RedDevilMoomin · 29/10/2010 14:07

mouse - got your mssg and have replied.

desiretochange · 29/10/2010 14:18

Oh my God, I go for my lunch and come back to find Red has returned:):) Happy happy days:):) So sorry you are struggling Red:(

Whitenapteen · 29/10/2010 14:19

Red we haven't 'met' but following the threads I know how much you have contributed and how many posters will be relieved to see you back. Hope that life gets better for you.

terrified Refences to drink/drinking are all around us - just look at how often a poster on other threads suggests a glass of wine to 'ease the pain of a relationship going wrong/to celebrate a success/to welcome in the weekend' (very apt as today is Friday). I think that my sensitivity to be aware of alcohol has been heightened since I decided to stop drinking. Try to use the heightened sensitivity to help you remain aware of choosing to drink and how much and see you on Monday - out of that corner perhaps.

RedDevilMoomin · 29/10/2010 14:24

Hello desire! Lovely to 'see' you again. Hello white, glad to 'meet' you! Hopefully my posting will be back to previous levels and I will get to 'know' you.

Feel very shame-faced and selfish that you have all been worrying about me. (And also a lovely warm feeling too, of course.)

daddywillbehomesoon · 29/10/2010 14:33

hey everyone - hey red - you have all been so busy since I last posted, yesterday!

wine tasting went well last night. I was so proud that there was much tasting and spitting from my side of things, Dh behaved fairly well, and everyone else got hammered. And then I had one very small glass of wine at dinner and only drank half of it because I only wanted that much [hgrin] not like the old me at all...

Anyway, dreadful night's sleep for various reasons, but today wole up actually not feeling too bad at all. So that was something.

Out at a charity ball tomorrow night and then back on no wine after that.

Can't add much else, am sitting here yawning - christi please don't go - you've supported me so much recently you can't go now!

thursoback · 29/10/2010 14:48

Thank you mouse

thursoback · 29/10/2010 14:48

"I don't get fall down pissed but I drink around a bottle of wine or a couple tins of lager, then I will probably drink half bottle of brandy."

The real problem with that is that, on that quantity of booze, you really SHOULD "get fall down pissed". You really ought to start worrying about the fact that you don't.

MIFLAW · 29/10/2010 15:34

Thurso

My own advice is by all mean count the days - as long as you only do it looking backwards. It is fantastic to be able to say, "woo, 2 days sober today!" I think it is a massively BAD idea to say, "well, next wek I'll be 7 days sober - if I get to that point then I'll ..." or "when I'm a year sober I'm going to ..."

Basically, don't count your sober chickens before they are hatched.

fezsarecool · 29/10/2010 15:37

So the thread goes on...
How dumb am I? I thought it was finished and chased MIFLAW on a new thread.

I'm multi tasking! On-line shop, caring for sick child, entertaining bored DD, fueling the log burner, sorting the laundry and looking for my will to live.

I know it's here somewhere........

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 29/10/2010 16:35

OP posts:
thursoback · 29/10/2010 16:46

Ah, yes Milflaw, some years agoBlush, installed a massively expensive bath, not a normal spa one, but one that "blows pure air through" to aid a good nights sleep.
When I don't drink at all I shall use that every night were my thoughts!!!!
p.s you all sound like such good mums, I think we all know where our reason to live is !:)

RedDevilMoomin · 29/10/2010 16:47

Dearest Babes, as some of you know 5pm is the witching hour for me and I won't be back on thread before Monday morning. I just wanted to thank you all again for being so lovely, warm and supportive this afternoon when I finally got the balls to log back on!

I hope that all your weekends go as you plan and you all enjoy yourselves!

Thanks again Babes x

Red 5pm the hour for me as well, especially on Friday. Have just poured out a bitter lemon, and hope that the sparkle does the trick.
Just be safe, and look after yourself.
