How bad is our sex life. we have four kids and a small house. we have sex on average once a month for about 30 seconds at best in case one of the kids come upstairs. last thing I said during our last brief encounter was, "you better hurry up".. not very romantic!
Most DH doctor has prescribed him bromide to try to keep down his urges.I am pretty indifferent to the whole situation now.

Was it always like that? You have many children. Maybe the infrequency is the problem, he is too sensitive when you snatch a moment. Bromide seems extreme.

littlemisslost · 14/09/2010 10:36

my sex life is terrible, mainly because I have zero sex drive and I feel very guilty. we have sex about 5 times a year! I think its partly down to my indifference about sex altogether and stress and our child always getting into bed with us and we both work shifts (opposites) mostly. We are very affectionate and kiss and cuddle and hold hands and love eachother alot

Malificence · 14/09/2010 12:09

The doctor has prescribed bromide. Hmm Which alternate reality is this then?

Must try harder, trolls are usually a bit brighter.

How did I cope for 10 days without the lunacy that is dear old mumsnet?

My problem is I have no sex drive and I am lazy! but Im working on it as as life gets less stressful I get more interested and its a lot to do with your environment, not 'fitting it in' but being prepared and looking forward to it

I seeee yoooooouuuuuu......

Malificence · 14/09/2010 12:45

Bromide was supposedly put into the tea of soldiers to curb their sexual urges.
No way on earth would a doctor offer it as a solution, unless hubby is actually an epileptic dog Wink.

AnyFucker · 14/09/2010 12:45

shit < jumps out of skin > Grin

SolidGoldBrass · 14/09/2010 12:46

Bromide? Why bother with that when there are plenty of conventional medications that can kill a sex drive stone cold dead.

Mouseface · 14/09/2010 12:49

perfumedlife · 14/09/2010 13:39

Well, let's see. It's more than once a month, but I do know what you mean about being disturbed. The problem is, by bed time I am only interested in sleep. In the old days, that was no problem. We could have sex at six pm if we wanted.

It's a passion killer, routine. What works for us is, get a good nights sleep in the spare room and the next night we can stay up late while ds is asleep and then catch up on sleep the following night.

I DO know when we let sex wane, it's difficult to get it back on the boil.

(hard to type this without using words like hard, slip and so on Smile )

Mouseface · 14/09/2010 14:02

DS has SN and is rarley asleep before 9pm. Some nights I crash and burn way before DH is ready for 'bed'.

We have no set routine as such but one thing we do try and do, is have a date night every month or few weeks. Make time for one another.

Cook something nice, bottle of something to share, good film, just relaxing on the sofa and then, hopefully, a damn good shag sex will follow.

Other than that, it's as and when we can. Sometimes, that means we get to do the old sheet shuffle three nights in a row.

Happy days!

AnyFucker · 14/09/2010 14:32

do you have just one son, mf ?
