Sex in the morning : serious question!

DH and I have been married for 23 years and still have a great relationship with lots of laughter . Sex is a bit patchy now to be honest: reasons being a) he comes home after 10pm most nights so I go to bed before him 2) my hormones are beginning to creak so there are times when I am just not interested and 3) we don't get to spend huge amounts of time alone in each other's company except on holiday, but this summer when away we met up back in the room in the afternoons and it was great! . Anyway, the problem IS.... he likes sex when he wakes up and i don't. Have always hated it. I like to have a cup of tea, clean my teeth, cuddle a bit etc and of course there's never the time for that. He on the other hand is ready as soon as his eyes open and he thinks most blokes are the same!! I disagree, and so he has suggested I ask Mumsnet for the vote! So, girls, are you pro or anti sex first thing?

Umm, my DP is definatley a morning man but I, like you, prefer to be a bit more awake and tidy. That said, it's a shame to waste the opportunity, it's always good once we get going and I'm always really lively after we've done it so it gets me up in the mornings!! Sorry, I'm probably more with your hub on this one....

Anti sex in the morning. Mainly because it is daylight.

I think most blokes are up for it in the morning, afteroon, evening, night, and any time in between.

Set the alarm half an hour early and there's nothing better. Keeps me smiling all day

I think most men want it in the morning, waking up with a hard on and not using it must seem like a bit of waste, I can sympathise but no, generally, not for me thanks.

I'm not a morning fan - everything's a bit more stinky, not the thing for putting me in the mood!

I've been married 21 years and am pro sex in the morning, especially useful now that the DCs are teens who sleep in late but go to bed later than we do.

Weekend mornings are when we are mostly guaranteed to be undisturbed .

Oh and don't worry about morning breath because when you've both got it no one notices (unless of course only one of you has had a strong curry/garlic the night before in which case a bit of honesty is called for).

It's all academic anyway with 3 children, one of whom is 5mo.

I love morning sex. My ex would never indulge me though because he hated having sex while sleepy.

Dh would love morning sex but I'm not a morning person - in any way - and I'm just not up for it.

I love morning sex but dp never wakes til the kids are up and about and despite his begging i refuse to shag when there's a fair chance they'll barge in the door. He never comes in the morniing anyway so it can get a bit tedious.

i like morning sex. don't know why. i know it is a bit sticky in the morning but then i know i am going to the shower and also, it is usually a quickie in the morning before dcs wake up.

I love it, have to have a wee and a cuppa first though. It's a lovely way to start the day and we get in the shower afterwards.
Healthy men aren't just up in the morning , they're up and down an average of 5 times a night.(it makes a useful hand warmer in the winter) .

i have sex more often in the morning than at night as I am more awake. At night I just want to sleep. I don't even remember the last time I did it at night actually

Love it first thing. Puts you in a good mood for the day and you have the benefit of loads of energy as you have just worke up.

I dont like it, I want a cuddle when I wake up and coffee. But then Im not a 'morning' person in general. mid afternoon is best (but of course can only happen when the kids are out and dh isn't working, so therefore would not happen often) Evening is better but Dh works late most nights so am tired.

I'd willingly have sex anytime it's offered. Dhs sex drive has been waning for a while and I hate it :(

Definitely not the morning, for me, the afternoon is best, for DH anytime is best. DD has been sent on long bike rides a couple of times this summer
