I keep hearing the end of a trailer that's clearly trying to build some suspense.

Come on, spill the beans all.

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/05/2010 23:08

Ooooooh.

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 14/05/2010 23:34

I haven't listened much lately, but I can't wait for Lil to kick Matt into touch and pair up with an actual human being.

FannyLogan · 14/05/2010 23:49

Well I am waiting for Pip to dump vile Jude, but I think it is a Lillian/Matt/Matt's brother thingy

MrsDickens · 15/05/2010 13:49

Yes, Fag-Ash Lil will face a 'choice' between Matt and Paul....which probably won't be a choice at all, as they always seem to bottle out of these things. Like Ruth and the cowman - what a damp squib that was, after their bit of furtive fumbling in the milking parlour!

Tbh I can't see them booting Matt out of it, unless the actor who plays him is actually intending to leave (come to think of it, maybe that's why he had to go to prison....maybe busy with some other acting role??).

I'm too busy shouting at the truly appalling, uber-controlling Helen and her smug certainty that she's already pregnant and that having a baby is just a matter of trotting down to a clinic waving a fistful of cash. Surely the scriptwriters can't let such a ridiculous storyline carry on!

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 15/05/2010 18:11

I've never liked Helen - ever since she came back from college acting like the big 'I am' business studies grad - not just the scripted character either - her voice sounds strangulated and annoying to me.

I hope the Paul thing does happen though (whorram I like? What do I care?!) - although I'm glad they bottled out of the Ruth and cowman thing 'oi want you Ruth.' < boak >

Lilymaid · 15/05/2010 18:18

How about ...
Judes ex wife/girlfriend turns up with his children and gives little "Phizz" a reality check.
Helen won't be pregnant and will stop eating again (unless the anonymous donor turns out to be Adam's other half)
Brenda's working late isn't working late but a change from Mr Sausage.
Fag-Ash Lil ... probably will kick Matt out for casting reasons as MrsDickens suggested.
Umm, Peggy runs away with her new male friend?
Fallon falls in love with the new milkman and breaks Jazzer's heart?
And, Brian's fathered another child ...

MrsDickens · 16/05/2010 11:29

Ha, yes, it's about time Brian had another, ahem, extra-curricular interest! One of the defining events of my younger life was listening to him rolling in the hay with Caroline, before she got so posh and respectable and married Oliver Stirling....come to think of it, Caroline hasn't been heard in TA for months. Maybe she's run off in real life with the actor who plays Matt....?

zisforzebra · 16/05/2010 19:50

I think it will be the Matt/Lillian/Paul thing. Paul's made it pretty obvious that he'd like to do more with Lillian than drink coffee and talk about property. I hope she takes him up on it, Matt's a just a PITA and just seems to take for granted that Lillian will just go along with whatever he wants.

R4 · 17/05/2010 09:35

Hmm. Hopefully Lillian will see Matt for the self-absorbed piece of nastiness that he is, and dump him.
She will then look closer at Paul and realise that, although he is nice, he is too nice and a bit wet.
So she will flail around in a paroxysm of insecurity until she decides to have some fun and hook up with (thinks of male characters at a loose end ... remembers Scott ... lightbulb moment ...) Jazzer!

At least the trailers are a bit better these days: we get reminders of past conversations, not spoilers on future ones.

squeaver · 17/05/2010 12:01

It IS Lillian and Paul! Apparently he "tells her how really feels" (like she didn't know that already).

I hope she runs off with him. For Jennifer's reaction alone.

zisforzebra · 17/05/2010 18:35

Lillian and Jazzer, now that's a storyline!

R4 · 19/05/2010 20:58

Did I miss something/is there more to come?
Or was it another damp squib moment?

zisforzebra · 19/05/2010 21:09

R4, it was a bit of an anticlimax. I was tutting at the radio and saying "oh Lillian" when she said she was going to stay with Matt.

Paul and Lilian stayed the night at a hotel after his work do, didn't they - but not in the same room, thought they had a drunken "Oh I don't want to leave but I must" moment.

I like Fagash and Matt so hope neither of them leave, even if they do split up. I'd LOVE Lilian to have a fling with some young thing and horrify Jennifer with lots of dirty giggling about it. Paul is a bit of a drip though.

The scene that annoyed me most recently (apart from Helen droning on and on about her baybeeeee) was Brenda saying on the weekend she hadn't managed to pre-cook all the week's meals for her and Tom. Err, full time job and a four hour commute or whatever it is, why is she meant to be doing all the cooking? Would any 20 something woman, working full time, really be doing that?

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 19/05/2010 21:35

Totally agree WhatSheSaid - I was heard shouting at the radio when Brenda was going on about cooking meals and Mr Sausage (as he will now be known as) said they could make do with baked spuds. Honestly I'm 40 and I don't think that's acceptable, let alone someone in their 20's.

Here's my prediction fwiw, fagash will eventually have a fling with Paul after it being dragged out for a while Matt will find out. He will be supported by Jenny and eventually they will have an affair. It's about time she got some action instead of Brain all the time.

What's the story with Kate then - what's she up to?

R4 · 19/05/2010 23:06

I rofl'd at the concept of Bren & Mr Sausage being unable to whip up the raw materials for a meal despite Bridge Farm / Ambridge Organics / village shop / sundry porcine delicacies / etc / etc.
Are they going end up having to accept Vikkki making them meals?

bibbitybobbityhat · 19/05/2010 23:12

I think that's the point with the Brenda and her new job storyline. I think all of Tom's expectations of her domestically will blow up in his face and there will be an interesting thing to do with men/women/careers/chores. Atm they aren't making a big thing of T's inherent sexism, its all quite underplayed, but it is subtly being flagged up for future reference. You mark my words my lover.

GrimmaTheNome · 19/05/2010 23:12

I didn't like Vikkki at first (I like the way you spell it ) but have decided that such an unstoppable force is a Good Thing in Ambridge. I wish our farm shop sold local pink veal, not having it is such a waste of boy calves.

Snorbs · 19/05/2010 23:37

Vikki? Or maybe Vicqui? With little hearts over the 'i's, no doubt.

I think the only value from her character will be when a) she turns out to be a post-op transexual or has some other serious skeletons in the closet, and/or b) she decides that she'll be running next year's pantomime and goes up against Linda Snell.

R4 · 20/05/2010 09:26

hmm, next year's panto: Jack gets magic beans in return for a cow veal calf?

It's Lynda-with-a-y, BTW

BendyBob · 20/05/2010 09:32

Or even 'Lyndy'

Rofl at 'Bren and MrSausage'

Ponders · 20/05/2010 09:39

Brian was wonderful last night - "we could hardly ask what he's been doing lately" - just what I'd been thinking when Jennifer dropped her clanger about the tag!

squeaver · 20/05/2010 17:22

Agree re Brenda and cooking the meals. Ridiculous.

Anyway, what happened to the hints that she was up the duff?
