Woman's Hour and Jane Garvey...

Have been working at my desk and listening to Woman's Hour - I really like Jane Garvey presenting..she is funny and slightly reminds me of Fi Glover.

Actually I think Fi Glover was dumped by a husband too.

And I'm sure I read somewhere that men are threatened by a sense of humour in women. Apparently they have to be the jokers and we must simper approvingly.

I love Jane Garvey. She used to do the Radio 5 show at 4.00pm with Peter Allen. She is smart and witty and charming.
Miss her now shes gone to 4 ( i'm a radio 5 live girl)

I think she sounds like Fiona Bruce.

& can I depart from the consensus & say that I don't really like her on WH? She comes across as clunky & gauche...

I like Fi Gliver but Victoria Derbyshire is my favourite and she seems under rated.

Used to listen to Jane Garvey on radio 5 - liked her a lot as well as Victoria Derbyshire - both v funny ladies.

Didn't know she'd split with Adrian Chiles tho.

Jane Garvey is top and makes a welcome relief from Jennie Murray (yes I know she's ill but I still think it!) sounding like she wears rubber gloves to pick up each word.

Fi Glover - class act.

Great fan of Jane and Fi Glover - there seems to be a split between being fans of both or neither. Resolved not to like Victoria Derbyshire as she ran off with Fi's husband but I do think she is very good. She has a very natural delivery. When you others stand in for her - like the awful Aasmah Mir who has no sense of humour or lightness of touch whatsoever - you realise how good VD is (written with a heavy heart).

Treacle - hope she's doing okay following the split. Must be very difficult seeing Adrian at Strictly gazing adoringly at Christine EVERY Saturday night.
