I have been listening to radio4 for 6 months solidly. I am an addict.

Threadwworm · 05/09/2008 11:31

Hoorah! I always think of Mumsnet as the internet sister of Woman's Hour.

WendyWeber · 05/09/2008 11:32

At last, a proper home for Archers listeners

southeastastra · 05/09/2008 11:34

hoorah, i;ll bring down the topic with talk of radio london and planet rock

Threadwworm · 05/09/2008 11:35

I've listened to Radio 4 all my life. I used to come home from school for dinner, and listen to Kenneth Williams on Just a Minute, or to the classic era of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue.

Tortington · 05/09/2008 11:35

oh so we're not talking 'George Galloway' on talk sport then really are we

damn it

PavlovtheCat · 05/09/2008 11:35

Radio 5 live, was on it this morning!!!

DisasterArea · 05/09/2008 11:38

i do apologise - i never grew out of radio 1.

i'll slope off quietly and hide under a rock again

Threadwworm · 05/09/2008 11:39

I also lisened to dear old Kenny Everett on Capital Radio, the best DJ ever.

WendyWeber · 05/09/2008 11:59

Oh, I used to listen to KE on (pirate) Radio London - he was wonderful!

policywonk · 05/09/2008 12:06

Hello fellow audiophiles

Has any one else noticed that Five Live has unaccountably become detached from the rest of the BBC stations in the DAB lineup? Or is it just my ancient digi radio?

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 12:07

i used to listen to kenny everett on my walkman at work, while i was transcribing my shorthand
i laughed and laughed.

MaggsS · 05/09/2008 13:47

Still addicted to Steve Wright in the Afternoon. Reminds me of my youth...Ahhh!

Carmenere · 05/09/2008 13:49

I am a radio addict. however I have been listening to the Archers for four years and have only just begun to understand it Of course I am now addicted

Lilymaid · 05/09/2008 13:52

WW - I used to listen to Kenny Everett on Radio London too - Kenny and Cash with Dave Cash! Very much a Radio 4 listener now, though.

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 14:31

kenny was on capital when i listened -

did not like steve wright in my youf. at all.

like him, just occasionally now - like the music though. good variety.

Madlentileater · 05/09/2008 14:34

ah yes, R4- did anyone hear the excellent piece on Woman's Hour this am, about children in Yarl's Wood?

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 14:39

what time is woman's hour? (is it everyday)?

hazeyjane · 05/09/2008 14:42

favourite radio programmes :
danny baker (london), adam and joe(6), radcliffe and maconie(2) and ken bruce (don't know why, like wearing comfy old slippers).

I really miss john peel, home truths. Most radio in our house is drowned out by cbeebies, and dd1 asking for her songs (springwatch theme, nellie the elephant etc).

OrmIrian · 05/09/2008 14:43

Hurrah!

Not much of a TV person but can't manage without R4.

Habbibu · 05/09/2008 14:43

Oh hurray!

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 14:44

ken bruce gets a bit tiresome with the scottish references though

OrmIrian · 05/09/2008 14:45

threadworm - Kenneth Williams was so much a part or JAM during my formative years that a colleagues 'Minute Waltz' ringtone immediately made me think of his voice.

Habbibu · 05/09/2008 14:45

Bah. Try living in Scotland and being constantly bombarded by casual refs to little bits of London...

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 14:47

i spose, but ken, we do know your're scottish!
