All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like Harrison to hasten home, or other unusual views.

Thanks to John Donne for the title inspiration. The funeral of the century beckons. How much of it do we think we will hear? Kate confirmed tonight that Shula, Debbie, Noli and Sipho are all coming. If we hear one peep from any of them I'll be amazed. Bets on Hazel turning up?

So Amber was younger than George so she must be same year as Brad?

i think the implication was that she was a dowdy geek (with thick glasses of course - let’s go fully with the stereotype)

but seems to have reinvented herself in a year?

You do still get thick lenses if you have very poor eyesight, as I do. I normally wear contact lenses but I have just paid an absolute fortune for new glasses with the cheapest frames I could find but special thin lenses.

But George remembered her. I think she was just seriously uncool and invisible.

She may have failed all her GCSEs and left Felpersham Academy (or whatever it's called) at 16 and gone on to college to gain expertise in Beauty Therapy, specialising in Eyelash Studies, Pouting and Gurning at the Camera. That would explain Brad having forgotten her.

Usha and Kenton behaving like actual grown-ups was refreshing. Usha was absolutely right about how the prosecution will present this.

Amber is indescribably awful. She also sounds bonkers- dangerously bonkers?

Aaargh. I'm listening on catch up. She's unlistenable.

Amber is compellingly horrific.

I’m imagining all the sw sitting round a table and discussing George

first the mysogyny, the job issues, the accident, then prison

then someone going ‘ooh me, me - let’s get him a prison groupie who turns into a stalker’

and someone else saying ‘yes! And let’s make her really rude and annoying’

and someone else ‘that’s brilliant! And let’s make sure she sounds middle aged but she’s actually only 18’

and then ‘all excellent - but how can we slip Joy into the sl?’

It’s only Tuesday. Given the precedents of Scam Week and Markie and the dog fight we should be ok and the Amber SL will be over by Friday.

Next week, order will be restored and Joy will be going for an interview for a p-t job in the pig enclosure at Berrow!

I like the Andrew - Amber idea. I also think that, that the T Shirt is worth a bit and might end up on Vinted. Glad Brad never let her get the better of him, she is really bitchy.

I was looking forward to George coming out of clink and blamelessly (haplessly) attempting to set up house with the female in a hastily built shed in his dad’s garden …

a convincing gender swap couldn’t happen that quickly
