DJ Johnnie Walker completely housebound

Did anyone hear Johnnie Walker and his wife Tiggy on the Jeremy Vine show today? Johnnie is now completely housebound and cared for 24/7 by Tiggy. Very moving interview, they’re obviously devoted to each other. I did think that Johnnie was sounding increasingly breathless on his Sunday shows, I wonder how long he’ll be able to carry on recording them.

Oh that’s sad. I have it on as I do every Sunday when I’m home but I’ve been in and out of the room so missed his announcement. I did think he sounds more breathless.

Glad to hear who his replacement is. I was worried it might change completely. It’s my favourite bit of Sunday.

Sad. I will miss him. I always download the shows for my walk to work.

My dad died from pulmonary fibrosis in March, he was 70. It’s a very cruel disease. He was on full oxygen and hadn’t left the house since Christmas as the air was too cold.

Bob Harris has just announced on Radio 2 that Johnnie has died. Very 😢
