Anyone hear this?! She chose Squeeze's 'Up the Junction' as one of her influences and said something along the lines because it was so 'upbeat and happy'!!! Idiot.

I imagine her Manager saying something like 'Think out of the box - don't choose all SKA / Motown / Soul. Demonstrate that you listen to other stuff released before you were born'. Perhaps they should have drafted a list.

Just googled to see if I could find a direct quote (and I wasn't having a Stroke 'is that Toast I can smell?) and she covered it!

Another Nepo babe. Wittering on about living in social housing - yet dad was Keith Allen, mum was a renowned film producer shacked up with Harry Enfield and went to multiple private schools. I agree with PP; cultural and Allen don't go together - really annoyed me re the 'Squeeze' influence. I refuse to listen to it again but am sure when challenged by the interviewer about the relevance she said something along the lines of 'it's about family!'. She's also lost her faux estuary accent.

I think we can assume Lily is among those who don't listen to lyrics and is just hearing a tune.
Odd for someone who's job is singing/writing lyrics.

To be fair, the puppy went into the filing cabinet, rifled through it until it found something important, then had a satisfyingly spiteful snack.
It wasn't a case of some idiot leaving the passports lying about within the puppy's reach, was it.

I have never like her and her "singing" is awful but now I really dislike her. Puppies chew so you don't leave anything lying around that you don't want chewed. Is she really that thick?

Bad enough that she got rid of the puppy although I am sure it ended up with a much much better owner but now she says she is getting another dog! I really hope the breeder/rescue or wherever she plans to get it from refuses to let her have a dog

OMG, I can't listen to "Up the Junction" without crying, it just so raw. Upbeat my arse. Was OK with Lily Allen before (though she did come up with some idiotic/ questionable stuff before) - really dislike her now.

I really like Lily Allen and I love the podcast she is doing with Miquita Oliver. I don't think Lily's Mum had much money when they were young kids after Keith Allen walked out and I think the lyrics of the Squeeze song are reminding her of that. She is very honest and lovely to hear 2 such good friends talking.

@Ukholidaysaregreat Hello Lilly (waves)! Yup. Life must have been really tough with mum (film producer) shacked up with Harry Enfield and Dad at height of Comic Strip fame. Prep School followed by numerous public schools.

She must have an audience because she keeps getting work…it does baffle me.
