Oh good, no Pip. Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .

JanglyBeads · 29/09/2024 17:33

Hmm what could the bombshell for Will be? Am glad Jill's making new friends!

MollyButton · 29/09/2024 18:20

She was just a locum GP but is now permanent. Borchester Green has a big catchment so hopefully they were there already or at the Cathedral school in Felpersham.
And it's very odd about her husband - I hope that gets explained one day.

What, with the hornets?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/09/2024 20:07

The Maliks were living in Solihull so it seems unlikely they were at school in Borchester, I would have thought.

Last year Azra had a conversation with Adil about which the synopsis says "her daughter Zainab doesn't mind the idea, and she has not yet told Khalil. Adil points out that Khalil is a teenage boy and she's going to drag him out into the middle of nowhere: Adil foresees trouble because of that."

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/10/2024 17:00

Wonderful news, the spoilers are still Pip-free! Which is odd, as three weeks hence we hear from David, Ruth, Ben, Stella and Lottie. Even better news, Angus Stobie, who has played an absolute blinder over the last few weeks, is in that week's cast list. Prison visit or will George get a suspended sentence? This week will tell. (We know that Sharon is his solicitor. Looks like we're going to hear from prosecution barrister, defence barrister and judge as well.)

Radio Times Ambridge Diary Sunday 6th to Friday 11th October
It’s judgement day for George, who has his day in court on Thursday. After one final family meal at Grange Farm, will the Grundy bad boy be locked up or let off to live as a free man, albeit one reviled by half the village ? At the trial, Fallon has to relive the night of the crash, and everything is finely balanced after the prosecution and the defence make their case. [This last bit has to be just about the appropriate sentence as he's already pleaded guilty, so there's no evidence to go over. Presumably Fallon is going to give her victim impact statement in person.]

The Mustardland poster who kindly posted the above says that this week’s Total TV Guide adds that Lynda tries to ingratiate herself with newcomers but makes a false accusation and then has to backtrack. Oo-er.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/10/2024 17:19

Good spot, Gonners! I think it's Willow Cottage that Roy is selling and Willow Farm where Brian and Jennifer used to live. Do we know if that's free? There are always tents. Farmers are tough, aren't they? They could spend the winter in the orchard behind Terum.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/10/2024 17:22

Here's Shreya Lallu. Early 20s. Mustardlanders are guessing Rhea might turn out to be a fellow student of Brad's. https://www.bcu.ac.uk/conservatoire/about-us/news/voice-acting-job-news-story-15-03-2024

I think it's Willow Cottage that Roy is selling and Willow Farm where Brian and Jennifer used to live.

Other way round. Roy had the larger share of the carved-up farmhouse because he had a wife and children, Mike had the smaller portion, which he later sold so Vicky could have her own way about moving to Birmingham. The new owners of Willow Cottage, the Kemps, got jobs in Brussels and let their house to Brian and Jennifer for six months, which morphed into several years.

I imagine this will divide the village down the middle. Two years! OK, he won't serve more than a year, but it's going to be tough.

Mustardland has next week's RT:

Radio Times Sunday 13th to Friday 18th October
Naturally much of this week deals with the fallout from the court’s decision regarding George, with the Grundys and the Carters realising their problems are far from over. Chelsea and Adam butt heads at the Tearoom, while Fallon makes a monumental decision and leaves Natasha searching desperately for a solution. A guilty Kirsty faces a potentially controversial negotiation at Bridge Farm, and Elizabeth offers the benefit of her wisdom to a friend in need.

I take it that Elizabeth will try to comfort Emma, and Fallon is leaving Terum. I look forward to hearing Chelsea tearing a strip off Adam.

OP posts:
Gonners · 10/10/2024 21:19

Team Chelsea here - though (to be fair) I'd be Team Attila the Hun if he were up against Adam.

And tonight's episode made me think that Fallon probably deserves Harrison.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/10/2024 09:39

Right! Round up of all the spoilers I can blatantly copy and paste from all sources.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update - October 13th-18th
As fallout from the long-awaited court decision over George continues, there's tension in the Tearoom, too, between Chelsea and Adam. Also this week: Fallon makes a huge decision.

Mustardland thinks this is the Barrie Rutter. Goodness me! Any thoughts on what he's going to be doing? Cameo or new character? He's 77. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrie_Rutter

Delighted to see Inspector Norris is back. Harrison sacked at last? Return of Rex, good, return of Henry, ditto. I always enjoy listening to Martyn Gibson as he is so astoundingly pompous. His judgement must now be called into question, surely - George was something of a protégé of his.

OP posts:
Bruisername · 13/10/2024 09:51

As I no longer feel charitable towards Fallon I’m hoping Harrison is sacked after she quits (no doubt no notice period as that doesn’t seem to exist in soapland) and then she’s committed to the new cafe and they end up having to sell the house

looks like Kirsty is evicting Helen? Kind of irritating for Helen given a house came up to rent opposite a couple of months back

RegimentalSturgeon · 13/10/2024 12:09

That’s a feature rather than a bug, surely…

BrightYellowDaffodil · 13/10/2024 12:27

Visiting George in prison? He might easily refuse to see his family.

But what has Kirsty got to feel guilty about? 🤔

Bruisername · 13/10/2024 12:30

Kicking Helen out

BrightYellowDaffodil · 13/10/2024 12:31

People like Gibson usually have a hide like a rhinoceros when it comes to deflecting any accusations that they’re wrong!

TottersBlankly · 13/10/2024 12:48

Thanks, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g!

Bit worried about the ‘shocking news for Ed’ alone. Health, Emma or Texel?

I don’t want Brad anywhere near George’s new residence. (Sad as I am for George.) So I hope his new experience will be uni-related. And not being strong armed into drone dropping drugs into prison.

Bruisername · 13/10/2024 12:49

If they ruin the future of yet another working class kid then I’m going to be seriously annoyed! The bbc seems to have this idea that social mobility can’t happen

True!

As I have just said on the main thread, if they ruin Brad's golden future I will lay siege to the Mailbox. But I think it's more likely to be a new experience at the university. There is a character called Rhea played by an actor in her early 20s who could be a new friend for Brad.

OP posts:
RegimentalSturgeon · 13/10/2024 19:53

Why do you imagine Brad has a golden future? Phoebe read PPE at Oxford and is now a humble algae-herder…
