Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they

A horse helped Chelsea?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/08/2024 09:20

Human horse. He had learning difficulties and was one of Philip Moss's slaves.

Was that Blake? He was a kind lad.

Bruisername · 19/08/2024 09:31

Oh!

Eastie77Returns · 19/08/2024 16:55

Blake, of course. I remember Kirsty looking for him and Natasha showed her really lovely side by helping with the search. I can’t remember what happened to him in the end, I think he was ‘resettled’ somewhere and it involved him using his carpentry skills in a a new job but it’s all a hazy memory.

MollyButton · 19/08/2024 18:19

Just occasionally they have a character who is not in the cast list until after they have appeared. I think they most recently did this with Rob.

@MTistheDB , She's either going to be taken hostage by Geowurge or a ONS with Harrison.

TottersBlankly · 20/08/2024 12:14

Most likely - a ONS with poor, put upon Fallon.

Less likely but more fun - a ONS turned lifelong relationship with Stella …

TottersBlankly · 21/08/2024 01:42

He’ll run away. I keep hoping for Canada but not sure if he has that sort of money. Bridge Farm are sucked in because they’ll be (inexplicably) short handed without him.

Emma will have done well in her GCSE but the celebration will be combined with Ed finding out about Geowurge, and he'll be furious.

Emma will get an opportunity to do OU at his majesty's pleasure.

Given the focus on Carters and Horrobins in the next couple of weeks, I'm guessing the surprise visitor is one of the criminal Horrobins who has been sheltering George.

TottersBlankly · 22/08/2024 09:57

Oh, I’m hoping for Shula!

Or Dan.

WhoppingBigBackside · 22/08/2024 10:39

Shula is always welcome. I have a feeling it will be Meg or Blake who will have been harbouring Geowurge.

Dan will be back sometime. Maybe he'll be curious about his new 'stepmother'.(IIRC Alistair adopted Daniel). Dan will be 30 in November.

WhoppingBigBackside · 22/08/2024 19:48

It's not Dan or Shula is it. Clive Horrobin?

Gonners · 22/08/2024 21:02

Why would George have Blake's number? I reckon Meg.

Madcats · 22/08/2024 22:27

Talking of horses (or was that the other thread!) isn't about time that Philip was thrown into the early release scheme?

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/08/2024 09:47

No.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 23/08/2024 14:26

Philip Moss was sentenced to eight years in prison in March 2021; Gavin got five years. So Gavin might be out by now but I doubt that Philip would be, and since his crimes were not crimes of violence that put the public at risk he might be considered for early release. He hasn't served 40% of his sentence, though.

Gonners · 23/08/2024 15:15

He hasn't served 40% of his sentence, though.

If Philip went to prison for 8 years in March 2021 then I think he has served 40% of his sentence, which would = about 38.5 months. So he'd have been eligible for early release in early summer this year.

Not that I hope he is. But (in hopeless optimist mode here) perhaps the SWs have realised that the listeners don't want to hear of him ever again!

BrightYellowDaffodil · 23/08/2024 15:15

40% of eight years is 3.2 (3 years and 2.4 months) - if he was sentenced in March 2021 then that takes us to around June 2024?

Wilma55 · 23/08/2024 15:20

And was he on remand before sentence?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 23/08/2024 16:30

Yes. And fair enough, he might be inflicted on us again Real Soon Now, though I do hope he won't be.

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/08/2024 20:02

Well, well. I was right.
Why couldn't it have been Shula or Dan?

Bruisername · 23/08/2024 20:03

That would be weird. But Meg would have been ok!!
