Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they
become available, plus the Radio Times and Daily Mail previews when possible.
Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter
tweets!

Ooh! I haven't heard last night's yet and am not hopeful that I will enjoy it, based on what I've read on the other thread. Maybe the SW dashed it off in 10 minutes because there was little time left after creating a masterpiece of an episode for Friday. <Pollyanna mode ON>

As a reminder, the spoilers for tonight and tomorrow are:
01.8 Things are eventful at Brookfield, and Chelsea gives some advice.
02.8 George accepts an invitation, and Emma tries to help.

@MollyButton, do you have a 🔮or a mole on the production team?

OP posts:
Bruisername · 01/08/2024 12:15

Is it the hen do tonight?

MollyButton · 01/08/2024 12:19

I have a friend of a friend of someone involved in the production. I hope the hint is even vaguely as accurate as the overheard conversation in a coffee shop that started the spoiler threads.

Bruisername · 01/08/2024 12:15

Is it the hen do tonight?

If they go by what they've advertised on air (through the mouthpiece of Pip) it is. So Chelsea's advice may not be to George about his sex life, just to one of the hens about her hair.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/08/2024 12:28

Oh god, the hen do. My hopes are not high. Now back from listening to the excruciating actors-do-drunk scenes. Why, just why? I've had enough of Paul too.

OP posts:
Gonners · 01/08/2024 12:51

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! let the hen do take place off-air.

Bruisername · 01/08/2024 12:54

Do you think there will be a surprise stripper and a tipsy Jill will have a bit too much fun

Gonners · 01/08/2024 13:03

Dayveed will perhaps come in and strip off in front of the sink.

TottersBlankly · 01/08/2024 13:15

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! let the hen do take place off-air.

After all that build-up?

I would sue. Angry

WhoppingBigBackside · 01/08/2024 13:50

Maybe Harrison will resume his old sideline.

TottersBlankly · 01/08/2024 14:07

C’mon, @MollyButton - spoiler us a bit more! ..

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/08/2024 10:49

"George accepts an invitation"
To unburden himself?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/08/2024 19:29

Well, forewarned by this thread, I listened live for once. George, George, George. Emma, Emma, Emma! (Not often we get a two-hander. Now we know why there were so many people in last night's episode.)

OP posts:
WhoppingBigBackside · 02/08/2024 19:51

That was good.

Don James - senior partner in Lovell James? Thom Petty was in TA in 2022 talking to Alice in some capacity - social worker? Character name was Sam. Actor is also an anaesthetist, oddly enough.

I’m not sure I can face listening to this being dragged out

Do you think Paul goes to far and causes an animal to die

Gonners · 02/08/2024 20:48

14.8.24 Paul finally goes too far ...

He can't go far enough for me. A day trip to Beachy Head, anyone?

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/08/2024 21:01

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . Please can somebody make Paul and Denise go away.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/08/2024 21:01

I think Don was the abrasive one who turned up last time instead of Doug Lovell, whom they were expecting and all thought was a nice guy, as opposed to Don who was described by Denise as "having an edge". He didn't speak.

Sam was indeed a social worker.

TherapistInATabard · 04/08/2024 12:55

Kate taking a walk down memory lane - will that be taking Alice along the road to the bridge, possibly triggering memories?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/08/2024 13:42

If they just don't try to pretend Kate and Alice spent time happily playing when they were children together. Kate was born in 1977 and Alice in 1988, and by the time Alice was wanting to ramble about without a parent or other adult, Kate was a rebellious teenager who wanted nothing to do with the brat who had got between her and the sun.

It's like the touching memories of Susan (born 1963) and Tracy (born 1975) playing together.

JanglyBeads · 04/08/2024 16:04

Thanks gasp

WhoppingBigBackside · 08/08/2024 20:06

Kirsty to get a new housemate?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/08/2024 20:34

Will do a full round up of spoilers after tomorrow night's episode, but felt I had to share this now.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary August 11th-16th
More pressure for George as his lies escalate - when Emma puts her foot in it, he has to race to save his own skin. Meanwhile, Alice tries to better recall the crash and learn the truth before it's too late. Paul meets a new man on a night out, but it looks as if his attempt to block out his pain may backfire. Lynda spots a golden opportunity and there's a life-or-death emergency at Brookfield.

Life or death! Livestock or human?

😂 @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Because of the line break on my screen, I read "Lynda spots a golden" and my brain inserted the word "retriever".
