I’ve not been keeping up. Has Alice gone back into rehab? I thought Susan was going to stitch her up to ‘protect’ Chris?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/07/2024 22:04

Alice went back into rehab very suddenly on 5th July (I think they had a cancellation) and nobody had much time to react.

DeanElderberry · 18/07/2024 07:17

Not the best time of year for young nettle shoots unless you've been managing them deliberately.

It isn't, is it. I don't think nettles are in the Woodland Trust's list of plants to forage for in July, which I suspect is where Tim Stimpson got the rest of Neil's list.

Edited

Ah I was away so that explains it. Thought she was still drinking/refusing rehab. Where is the whole George / Alice SL going? Really dragging it out.

Cannot wait!

Thank you @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g. The August 4th week looks particularly intriguing.

MsCheeryble · 20/07/2024 09:42

Lily keeps something on the down-low.

I've heard of lowdown, but not down-low. Is that a thing?

Yay, looks like the crash plot line could be moving towards a conclusion.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/07/2024 10:09

I think it might a US phrase, or possibly something Young People say. I was struck by it too.

OP posts:
Eastie77Returns · 20/07/2024 13:52

Doing something on the down-low (or DL) is behaving furtively, keeping something secret.

Someone who is cheating on their partner might say they were seeing another man/woman on the down-low.

Yes Denise, I’m looking at you.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/07/2024 14:16

So it's sort of the opposite of giving someone the lowdown?

Eastie77Returns · 20/07/2024 14:42

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/07/2024 14:16

So it's sort of the opposite of giving someone the lowdown?

Yes, although I’d never thought of it like that before!

More specifically, it can also refer to a seemingly heterosexual man secretly engaging in relations with men (particularly within the US/African American community)

WhoppingBigBackside · 20/07/2024 15:21

Meanwhile, George is acting increasingly out of character and Chelsea is determined to find out why. Alistair feels like hiding away, Jakob is caught in the middle, and Pip's big event is under threat.

I don't like the look of that teaser at all. Bruisername just said on the main thread if this so ends with Alice remembering during the trial and shouting it out or George confessing on the stand then I will have to stop listening. This is exactly what that teaser suggests to me. Aargh!

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .

Let's hope that "Paul finally goes too far" means that he gets a one way ticket to some galaxy far, far away.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/07/2024 14:06

Suzanne Packer is an incredibly familiar TV actor and (thank you Wikipedia) older sister of hurdler and TV commentator Colin Jackson! She's 61. Any guesses who Yasmin is going to be? Friend or relative of Denise's, perhaps?

Kieron - also a new character? Adam Young seems to be in his 20s. New name and face to me, but he had a juicy role at Birmingham Rep this year playing Danny the drug dealer in a stage adaptation of Withnail and I, so he must have talent.

Suzanne Packer was in Casualty or Holby City, or both. She was also in Brookside, and yes, she is the sister of the hurdler Colin Jackson. She's been in lots of things based in Wales including the Eva Myles one (Keeping Faith).

The name Yasmin rings a bell but I can't place it. Alice's sponsor at the rehab or something? Am I getting her mixed up with the Azra actor?

Might Kieron be a friend of George's?
(For some reason I have the actor Keogh Kiernan in mind but he's another Keeping Faith one and nothing to do with TA)

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/07/2024 15:35

The name Yasmin is not in the synopses, going back as far as1996. She may have been mentioned in passing, but hasn't been important.

Yasmin Wilde certainly plays Azra.

Gonners · 27/07/2024 16:03

Is Yasmin going to be Paul's sister - and Kieron perhaps her partner/husband?

WhoppingBigBackside · 27/07/2024 16:05

Paul's sister is called Cara

Not impossible for a man in his 20s to be married to a woman in her 60s, but unusual. So probably not.
