All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to have your fortune told by Bartleby, or other unusual views.

I wouldn't call Harrison's saying he was OK with not having children "lying through his teeth" but a gracious concealment of his wishes, putting Fallon before himself. Pretty big actually.

For those asking about entitlement to criminal legal aid both George and Alice could apply. There is a financial and case severity threshold that has to be met.

There is a risk of custody so the case severity threshold is met.

If their disposable income is above a certain level they'd not qualify at all. At another level they may have to pay a contribution to their costs. George can't be on more than minimum wage so I think he'd qualify so the tree surgery investment money would be safe in real life

I won’t tag but I’m so so sorry for your losses OutOfTheHouse and UnintentionalArcher, and anyone else who’s been through this horror. It’s going to be a hard listen for me too, may just skip any scenes with Harrison and Fallon. That doctor sounded completely unsympathetic considering the news he’d just given.

btw did anyone else think the “message deleted” was voiced by the Fallon actor? It really sounded like her.

There could be at the telecommunications company(ies) - they have to log every call, whether it connects or not, is billable or not, and given it was so recent, they probably still have a log showing the call was made and connected but not answered, vm left and later deleted.

But no one is going to care. They don't think George is guilty of anything. No one seems aware he was driving. He could claim he tried moving Alice to check she was okay, hence the wet in the car. If he's sensible, he will have been through all Will's messages, passed on what he needs to know and deleted the lot, not just his own. There's no reason to investigate his or Will's phones/phone records.

George's phone might not be dead. The truth will out.

I was amazed that they attempted it. I imagine the production meeting when they made the decision was even more stilted.

OMG it was indeed awful, wasn’t it- the bit about children from the church writing letters to the families of hostages and “being delighted to get a reply”- just what you need when your family member is being held hostage, feeling obliged to write to a random British schoolchild! Words fail.

Alan is so obnoxiously worthy.

I thought it was big at the time, but Harrison's thoughts at the scan were all about his disappointment and not about Fallon, who is about to go through the painful experience of miscarriage. Fallen won't have missed that.

Same age as Ed and Jazzer. They were all carefree kids together. Makes me feel ancient to think that's 20+ years ago!
