Just listened to the first episode. Not going to say much about it because I doubt many have had a chance to listen to it yet. I was really disappointed with it though. What do any of you think. I was really looking forward to it. I hope it improves.

Oh didn’t realise it was out already - will listen later

MothralovesGojira · 30/04/2024 13:12

Well let's face it - no one does a good supernatural event like us Brits!!!
That aside, I listened this morning and found it quite scary and some of the things raised were interesting.
I love Danny's enthusiasm. I'm going to Uncanny Live for the second time in a few months. My brother and I listen separately and then discuss each episode over coffee. I'm Team Believer and he's Team I Absolutely Believe!

Bluebellsinthewind · 30/04/2024 13:16

I seen the post on Instagram yesterday. When Danny said it was out today. Not had a chance to listen to it yet. I could pop it on just now but I am in the house myself Grin

Rae36 · 30/04/2024 13:18

I'll be listening! I think I'm team sceptic but every now and again a story seems totally believable. I'll listen to this one later today

Suchardchoccy · 30/04/2024 15:26

I've listened and it's not the same as the UK ones. Although the gun references made me laugh

Bluebellsinthewind · 30/04/2024 16:00

I was brave and listened to it. I really enjoyed it, thought it was brilliant and spooky 👻 looking forward to next week's episode. Saying that it really bugs me that there is only one episode a week. Wish they would drop all episodes at once.

GlomOfNit · 10/05/2024 08:34

Saving it up for the weekend, as my GCSE-sitting son loves it too now. I'm dreading being disappointed by it - could taking it to the States make it jump the shark?

Also got tickets for Uncanny Live this summer!

gano · 10/05/2024 09:29

I really enjoyed the first episode. Listened to the second one yesterday and found it a bit lacking.

Roomination · 10/05/2024 09:35

I’m up to date and have enjoyed epi 2 and 3 . I was disappointed after the first and had set myself up to be over it but I felt they have got more ‘ghostly’

I hope you have a great time at the live Glom

I'm finding the theme music unbearably annoying this season. It always annoyed me a bit but I've reached my limit. I wish they'd change it. I forward through it at the beginning but then every now and again they play it in the middle and it catches me out.

I know what I saaaaaaaaaw

Roomination · 10/05/2024 18:17

That ‘I know what I saaaaaaw’ is as irritating as heck .

I thought the first one was really scary. Certainly not anything I'd want to experience.

Have only half-listened to the second one...

HandsDown84 · 16/06/2024 07:31

Having listened to a few my favourite is the new-build one where the wife saw something impossible through the window.
I prefer the UK ones though! More relatable. I was terrified by the Oxford student house one. I looked up the house on Google Maps and wished I hadn't.

Roomination · 16/06/2024 09:59

the new build one was the most ghostly so far, but am not enjoying this series. The rest seem explained by sleep paralysis, a response to bereavement (first one), mistaking bears for Bigfoot due to folk lore within their society. To me they’d be better in a psychology series than a paranormal ones.

LightSpeeds · 16/06/2024 10:32

I don't think it's as good as the UK one - and they gave way too much airtime to that Bigfoot episode.

Roomination · 16/06/2024 20:36

That Bigfoot one did not warrant 2 episodes. And as far as I know, just about all Bigfoot sightings nave not stood up to scrutiny and are either hoaxes, bears, superstitions /folklore making for mistaken identification, hallucinations at high altitude etc. Any hairs that have been found and tested have been bears or other large mammals.

I don't think this series is as good as previous ones. I don't quite know why. Hopefully a return to a UK setting next series will help.

I agree. I'm far more interested in people seeing things at home or in their nearby towns etc. than out in the wilderness where any number of environmental or psychological factors could have caused people to see and hear things.

Peppermintlover · 16/06/2024 21:44

No episode will be as bad as that one about a creature on the bridge and had a fowl smell? I think it was in France and the sceptics convinced the listener quite well it was a goat!! That episode was such a let down.

I am a massive Uncanny fan though and need to get onboard with listening to this new series. My favourites ones are the more traditional household haunting ones. Loved the one in remote Scotland!

I just saw 2:22 a ghost story on your too and really enjoyed that. Danny Robins is very clever at story telling and pulling you in.

HandsDown84 · 16/06/2024 21:47

The student room in Belfast is my favourite.

AtomicBlondeRose · 16/06/2024 21:51

The US ones are just not scary. I don’t know why, they’re decent enough stories and the format is the same but it just doesn’t work for me. I think I prefer the British way of telling a story maybe. It’s a pity because there’s nothing wrong with the episodes, they just hit different for me. I’ve switched some off halfway through which I’ve never done before. With the British ones it could be a reveal like “and in the morning, the crisps were GONE” and I’d be sat there with hairs on end feeling chilled to the bone! In the US ones someone could be possessed, head spinning round, demons swarming through the house and I’d be “eh, it’s ok”.

AtomicBlondeRose · 16/06/2024 21:53

I saw 2:22 as well and really enjoyed it even though it’s patent tosh to be quite honest. A fun evening out though and done well.

Welshiegreen · 16/06/2024 21:55

I loved the bigfoot episodes!

Roomination · 16/06/2024 23:15

The remote bothy one was genuinely scary to me and the haunted student hall one. The French stinky goat one was sooooo bad it was funny.
