Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you think Tom Archer is a great businessman, or other unusual views.

Thanks to @LillianGish for the title idea, which may plant an earworm if my scansion just about holds up. @BeatriceBatchelor wanted 'plebby coffee' inserted in reference to my Bolivian coffee anecdote on the last thread, so I'll mention it here instead. Here's hoping Fallon and Emma decamp to the charging station or Grey Gables, or both, to run the type of coffee shop/tearoom people actually enjoy spending time in. Tom's cauliflower eclairs and kale criossants approach sounds more likely to drive the casual trade away from the farm shop and cheese window as well as the Google Translate-named Te Rum.

Feeling very uninspired by TA at the moment, so I have nothing more to say for now. Over to you!

Completely forgot Natasha, but if I were her I’d be using every contraceptive known to woman because 18-month-old twins. Noooooo. I’d also not be shagging that irritating little git Tom ever again.

I don’t wish an accidental pregnancy on Fallon then if she doesn’t want kids. Feel Harrison would pressure her to keep it and then sw would go down route of her being fulfilled by motherhood (as all women should be 🙄) rather than her life being turned upside down while Harrison romps through the countryside leading to inevitable divorce

We were told that his brother Erik looks very like Jakob.

We were told that Erik is very handsome.

And I agree, Usha not only sounded smitten, she said that a lot of the other women in the village admire Jakob too. Alan was not best pleased!

@ReindeerHoptimist That would be great I agree. But her last love-in with Erik was months ago and there's no other man on her horizon as far as I can tell, so barring an immaculate conception......

Hopefully she won’t do a Helen. Maybe Erik will visit Jakob around Christmas and that will enable the magic moment

@bakedpotatoforlunch , but she might have thought her menstrual cycle was erratic because of her age and not had any signs. If she was using contraception, it might not have occurred to her. I know a few who didn't realise until t was too late to have a termination, one of whom had had a previous pregnancy.

I would love a surprise late baby for Kirsty, I feel she'd be very funny and a welcome change from the other sentimental Ambridge mums.

Much better than the concept I first thought of which was Pip deciding she and Stella should have a baby and roping in one of the local gay men e.g. Paul to help.

@ReindeerHoptimist O perhaps I missed that. I thought they'd gone off on holiday together in the summer and that was the most recent time they'd been together. Probably I'm getting muddled. Not unusual. 😃

The twins being teenagers was clearly exaggeration for comic effect!

Kirsty went to Prague with Erik in July, and as far as I know he hasn't been mentioned since.

Helen might not know if she was starving herself for a few months.

But we know that Helen and Lee hadn't had sex for several months before splitting up. Helen said so to Kirsty (or possibly Ian). The last we heard was when she couldn't bear to be touched by him ages back, and then when she was contemplating breaking up with him she told Kirsty that they hadn't been intimate for a long time.

As a happily child free middle aged woman I am still annoyed that Alice had to get pregnant with Martha. She didn't want a child and Chris made it difficult for her (I recall). I don't want that for Fallon.

I'm really sorry, but I would like to know when she said this to Kirsty, because I did not hear it.

Chris, who did want children, was delighted when he thought Alice had decided that now was the time to do what she'd told him she would, start a family with him when the time was right.

I think I remember the Kirsty/Helen no sex chat as well, it must have been one of the more recent episodes with Kirsty in it. If I recall it was only a day or a few days before she dumped Lee.

I heard her say it. It was when she was telling Kirsty she didn't want to be with Lee any more and Kirsty was trying to be positive.
