If he takes Popmaster with him, I think most of the audience will follow.

He is going to Greatest Hits Radio (which I think its great!) and taking Popmaster with him apparently.

But he is moving into Mark Goodier's slot which is a shame as I think he is also good! Hopefully they will keep him too.

He only said in December that he'd never retire from his show so wonder if he's been pushed like Steve Wright?

End of an era for me too. I already listen to Simon Mayo on Greatest Hits so I’m pleased Ken will at least be there. If he’s taking Popmaster then all is well.
No more weekday Radio 2 for me though.

Gutted and yes I will move over too like I have with Graham Norton at the weekends.

Ah it's a shame, I liked his dry sense of humour and his subtle piss-taking of JV news stories. I wonder who will replace him, Gary Davies maybe? Unlike 99% of MN I quite liked Steve Wright and hated Scott Mills taking over BUT actually I think he's settled in really well and I like his sarcasm.

Ken Bruce is the last of the great presenters on daytime radio 2. I don’t listen to them anymore, I have moved with Simon Mayo.

Oh no! I had to turn off before the end of his show today, so I missed his announcement. I guess I’ll also be moving over to GHR.

So fed up with all the changes to BBC6 and BBC2 over the past few years. They’ve got rid of all my favourite presenters (though I was delighted to see the end of Steve Wright).

Yup I don't much like Scott or Sara. I do like Zoe in the mornings and Jo Whiley.

Does Greatest Hits have ads? I can't bear ads on the radio.

I tried Greatest Hits Radio but honestly couldn’t stand the adverts, I don’t think I could cope with Ken there.

@cheeseisthebest Simon went to Greatest Hits Radio after being pushed out having to share his show with Jo Wiley and afterwards they gave Jo Wiley her old evening slot back. The whole thing stank and Simon should have dragged the Beeb to court for constructive dismissal.

I will no longer listen to Radio 2. First Steve Wright, not every-one's cup of tea, and now Ken Bruce. It was hard enough finding something else to listen to between 2 and 5, now I have to find an alternative for 9:30 to 12 also.
What will everyone else to tuning in to?

I'll see who takes over. I tend to have it on in the background and dip in and out anyway so unless Chris Evans comes back or they get someone equally annoying I'll stick with R2!

Simon Mayo was on Scala Radio for a bit (classical music), but moved to GHR last year.

Mark Goodier, Richard Allinson, Alex Lester, Jackie Brambles and Paul Gambaccini all have shows there.

Amongst other things, his contempt for working with Richie Anderson was thinly (yet professionally) disguised.

Shame, end of an era. But I’ll follow to GH as I did with Simon Mayo (albeit the ads are VERY annoying).
